Vintage Sandcrawler box - Scans not available

I have been working on replicating the sandcrawler box.......this was not for profit or to scam anyone. I made this one and it is to go with my sandcrawler for the time being. .........so what do you guys think of it?

Mine came out a tinge more yellowish and slightly darker, but I am happy with my work and I now have a box (And yes it is a repro) to display with my sandcrawler.

UPDATE: I will not supply the images/ Scans I used for this box to anyone. Updating this due to numerous PM requests from 1st time members.

Thanks, It took me a while to make it, but It was far cheaper than buying a loose box(If you can find one) or just simply buying another crawler with a box.

It's a good recreation Todd. The only thong that would bother me is the image of the sandcrawler on the box. It looks a but pinkish. Must have been pretty tough to get it looking as good as this in the first place. A nice filler for the display for sure

Yeah...the yellow threw of the color slightly, but it looks better in person. The camera messed with the color of the box when It took the picture as well. This box looks fairly accurate, but be rest assured, it would not fool anybody upon up close inspection. When I replace it with a real one, I will burn it and take a pictures just to rest everyone's mind. I plan on making other rare boxes, but that is when I get the time. Oncce again for my own collection and anyone is welcome to call me out or kick my ass if they find me listing them on ebay.

I do expect better from you than what the pictures show
I guess it would have been more difficult to work from just pictures & not being able to scan an original box.
I think a backdrop made from just one side of a box makes a neat display option behind a loose vehicle.

If you go into Photoshop or a similar program and look for the Hue/Saturation settings you should be able to get that a lot closer by de-saturating the red/magenta

I like it and it as not quite as red in tone as the picture shows, besides it took me a while to put it together and I am way to lazy to build another.

Lovin the work Todd, great idea if you need something really hard to come by or expensive.

I think it's a superb idea as your only doing for yourself, and not scamming anyone.

My lad is collecting MOTU as a side line, and initially wanted to get mocs of his childhood, main characters ..till he saw the stupid prices, so more power to you pal...he's just collecting loosies now

The sandcrawler box looks bloody awesome, worth the work buddy :wink:

Printed on stock paper and adhered to the raw cardbord substrate. This is the biggest box I have copied so far and the outcome was good. When I find a real one...this one will go up in flames as promised. :wink:

People ask why I did this and not wait for a real one......answer is simple...I loved the look of the box on display with the crawler and I was not willing to shell out $600-$800 for a replacement with a box. I just need a loose box!!!!!!
