Hi guys,

Hope everyone is well. I'm a regular reader of threads here if not always a poster & some of you will have dealt with me as a seller & buyer of your figures.

I wanted to check what the rules are for promoting an eBay listing.

I hope you will see my intentions are good & that we can generate alot of interest for a very good cause.

Being a father to a 10 month old son & being a bit older & wiser now, I have been profoundly moved on the 20th anniversary of James Bulger & the tragic story of his murder. In March 2011 his mum set up a memorial fund on what would have been his 21st birthday. They do some brilliant work with families affected by things that most of us will hopefully not experience. You can check it out at http://www.forjames.org.

So where's the good intention of an eBay listing - I have decided to auction off a vintage POTF Yoda from my prized collection. The bubble, as with many Yoda's is cracked, but he cannot be removed & it still looks fantastic on display. I'm going to be listing with no reserve & at 99p start in the hope I get plenty of interest. 100% of the winning bid will be donated to the above charity. I picked this piece because even with the damage & him not being graded, it would fetch the highest price.

So, can I post auction links here when I list?

Hopefully you can guys can help me reach a tremendous amount of money to donate & if you aren't bidding, please check out the website where you can donate by text. Even a £1 donation will show that some good can come from this dark moment.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Cheers guys,

I'll list it Sunday & post details here. If anyone is interested in bidding & wants pictures prior, just PM me & I'll send them over to you.

If you're not bidding, don't forget to check out the memorial website & make a donation.

Superb auction for a superb cause, good luck with the sale and I hope this is sold for WAYYYYYYYYYYYY OVER its market value for such a good cause, infact will help by bidding myself on it.

Good luck!

@ Badderius - I have read enough on the threads here to know in advance I would get plenty of support from community members & it will mean so much to me.
I actually "auctioned" myself off at work thus week by asking people to donate to the trust. In return, everyone who pledges money, I am putting their name in a hat & to the winner drawn I have pledged my time to them to cook them a meal, complete a DIY task they need doing, clean their house/cars or gardening! I'll let you all know how much I raise on that as well (In 2 days I have over £100). I've had some worrying requests, from older ladies, to trim their bushes.

Just turn up with a chainsaw to make sure it's the privets they're talking about

Will also be bidding on the Yoda, it's a great cause.

Great idea and very Generous of you, this sad episode still resonates with people all over the world and having two little boys myself these days it hit's even closer to heart.

I hope this will be a record breaking price for a POTF Yoda!

I wouldn't hold your breath but maybe you could check with a mod on RS to list it there? The more publicity the better.

Will the Auction be open to international bidders?

Thanks again for support.

Yeah, I'm going to open this up to international bidders. As long as I get a 3 figure sum for the charity I'll be pleased!

Thanks for the heads up on RS & the owner of TIG has invited me to post on there which is a fantastic gesture to take the time to do that. Link will be up later today.
