Vintage Photos

Here's another couple of mine, the albums I can find jump from age 3-5 to 9-11, I'd love to find the middle years.

Lots more excellent photos being posted here everyone! Thanks for sharing your childhoods and bringing back memories for those of us who sadly don't have any similar photos of our own to share.

Bonus points if anyone can remember what this was called?
It was stuff that you had to build and could make all sorts of different vehicles out of it.

Looks like I get the bonus points thanks to stumbling on a listing for them.

The line is called Legions of Power.

First 3 pics are of my table at a Cheshunt in the early 90's.
Next is me circa 1992 with stuff I'd bought from car boot sales and classified ads, this was just the carded figures and boxed items! Lastly, me aged 10 on xmas morning 1983 with some of my new haul - Klaatu and the AST-5, the Falcon, Jabba, Luke Jedi and one of the speeder bikes :)

Well there's some vintage goodness Mark and you're looking pretty smooth with that wall of SW behind you

Out of interest is that your parents conservatory that you're in or your own? I'm just wondering how it went down with your folks when you were storing all of that if it is from their house?

Some great pics :D

I'm not sure on the falcon pic, could be Christmas '83 or '84. 2nd one is Christmas '84 for sure. Can't find any earlier photos though.

I'm pretty certain I saw the October '82 tv premiere of Star Wars and then got to choose a Christmas present from the recently opened Tesco superstar that year, which was a Vader TIE Fighter. I always thought I got the falcon the same year but I don't look young enough in that falcon pic, so maybe my memory is actually shot to pieces

I was living at my parents house at the time, my mum was really cool about it but my dad bloody hated the stuff and would always have a go at me for spending my money on it

I used to keep it in my room but after about a year it completely took over and I was allowed to convert half the garage into a collection room. Had done it out like a shop :)

Yes mate, we also made some massive replica Kenner cards for Jason Joiner who used them at all his shows. Took ages to make, this was before the days of large scale digital printers and each element was cut and stuck by hand :D
Happy days though.

Well that's awesome work.
I reckon you could do a bit of business making the racetrack Star Wars signs or those ESB signs in that style.
I'd be interested :p

That's a great story Mark and at least your Mum was understanding about it (I can imagine it probably being the other parent for me if I would have done the same thing).

Really great pictures to see and as others have said you had a really impressive table back in the day (as you still do).
