Vintage overdose vent

Really interesting read. I am new to collecting after break of many years. It is addictive. Love the posty coming with new figures. I have only been at it a couple of months but already thinking of what I can sell on ebay to fund more figures! I have hit it pretty hard but hoping it will drop offf when knee injury improves. Luckily decided to collect loose figures so not as expensive as it could have been!

There is one guy that was interested in buying some loose figs when I had them for sale, but he never came over, but he regretted that and wants to get together for a game of SWCCG and a few beers. :p

I used to play SWCCG back in the day. From what I hear it is a different beast now, but it has the potential to take up a lot of time if you want to get serious about it. It shouldn't be too expensive now, either.

I told him that if we were going to play, we're going by the old rules and the first ed. cards,
might be a nice break from buying but still keeping the sw vibe going :p

That's what I'm talking about. Old school! 8)

Crack open some sealed decks, or are they considered vintage now?

I had some of the best times playing this game. Now I've just got a load of worthless cards. :(

I don't think they are considered vintage, as they go for shits and giggles on ebay atm, will hunt down some starters and I believe
phantom has a shitload of them I might buy if he gets his finger out of his ass!
And I have pulled the trilogo playpack sale, I'm going to upgrade it with MOCs and a bagged catapult to finish this season
of vintage hauls, then a long break is in order. :p

Glad to hear your keeping that set. It's fun to complete something slowly overtime. I might suggest giving a shot at doing some customs...they always keep me occupied.

Might I suggest

Yup tindra,, i had a big overload for a while and i was in need of Cash,, sold everything but a few and then really didnt miss it.

Then the urge came back but at a more measured pace,,mainly due to the fact i dont look at the latest aquisition thread anymore,, its too much (i remember only a short while ago a ROTJ klaatu moc would have been news,, but not its rarity after rarity and grails galore)

The funny thing i found is when i was building uo my collection i was happy,, once the display was full i never really noticed it.
When it was gone i didnt miss it much,, but now i am bilding things up again i am happy and into it again..

Its been said many times but the thrill is in the chase.

Yeah, can't say I miss my old loose collection, it had just been sitting there for 4 years, not getting much love at all, and all those
vehicles took up so much space, glad I started something new though, even though it has been costly and over a short span of time.
The chase is nothing more than a drug, but a good drug if spending is economic. :p

I have many templates. Get a good printer, some bubbles and paint....then have some fun.

Got a decent printer for free a few weeks ago, that might put it to good use. :)

Theres some good points on here, I think it can be a genuine addiction like anything else actually and impact your life if you let it. I maxed my credit cards last time, I had to sell the lot and luckily made the cash back so I suppose there is always a get out route other than say gambling. The forum life and camaraderie probably doesn't help it spurs you on!

I've just got back into it this month and bought 6 MOC's already, I'm hoping it will settle down, but all day at work with an internet connection is bad news... Still don't regret it though I have missed it!

On the relationship front it did cause problems in the past just ear ache really, but I've started seeing a girl last couple of months who collects 70's vintage Kenner blythe dolls. Only found that out afterwards (we both sort of confessed our nerdy secret!) so she will probably be no help either! :D

What an interesting read...

Tundra I hear ya.... I got back into this a few months back and have gone hell for leather at it.... I always have been a bit of a collecter. As a kid it was football match day programmes.... 90% now recycled probably as loo roll. Then records of which I have thousands, sat in an ex girlfriends loft.... Subutteo, footy cards, star wars figures anything to do with Luton town FC, football shirts... Then I got into Lego.... Now after a 15 year break back to star wars. My first love. As a kid I got what I was given as gifts or pocket money, as a student what I could find on a budget... This time with money... That I have spent and as you are a little freaked out by it.

I have put my finger on it... I just love getting post, the sound of the letterbox...

My wife is happy that I am happy... My son maybe happy as I could sell this all to fund his first year of car insurance

My friends think I am a nut but humour me... And fane interest or like to ask what this months fad is... Itfciain be ware i bet its action force in a few months, i need that skeleton from the bad guy gang, have you got one? . Remember everyone is cooky in someway. The question is are you happy? I am and barring a little will power I enjoy it.

People on hear seem sound , comment on others and as Frunkstar said pick a focus... I should have listened... Barring my next delivery I am calming down. Gam guards only... Anyone?

I haven't bought anything vintage for a few weeks now, getting withdrawal symptoms and entering free on-line forum competitions to get my fix :?

Thinking of moving on to class A's (MOC's)
