Vintage drying up on eBay?

I like buying my figures on ebay. However i am very careful with buying on there, i check the figures out very carefully to make sure everything checks out. i never buy anything that's looking dodgy, incomplete or has repro accessories. I do find it quite hard to find sellers on ebay lately that sell figures 100% complete. I have also seen Star Wars figures being sold on Facebook but i've never bought anything from there. Personally if i had the choice, i'd much prefer to buy the genuine figures from a collectors shop. They are more expensive but at least you do know what your getting and you can inspect them right there before you buy.

Maybe we should start buying up all the beaters to just take them out of circulation and prevent them being u-graded? Say each of us here whose finances can manage it buy 5-10 a year :D

I have noticed for a while that the number of MOCs has massively declined on eBay since some genius ruined the categories several years ago, but as I've just started putting a loose set together I'm amazed how few complete loose figures are now on there too. For example, there isn't a SINGLE loose complete B-Wing Pilot on there right now. There are a couple of graded ones, several MOC and a few with repro weapons, but not one ungraded with original weapon. I thought there would be dozens!

Where have they all gone? Are people hoarding because of the new films? Or have sellers all moved to Facebook?

edd, maybe it is because of the weapon. It is very small and was lost in many childhood collections. I have bought many childhood collections the last couple of years and AT-ST driver gun, B-Wing pilot gun, princess leia poncho gun and imperial gunner gun was missing in most of the collections I have picked up I also have never found a pop up saber for r2 in a childhood lot :( So when there comes more collectors the rare weapons will be hard to find :( But I agree facebook and forums has also something to do with it, ebay is expensive and all that global shipping, people do not like it.

I have found this, some carded figures i am after for my ROTJ collection that i thought would be in abundance are proving quite difficult to track down in decent condition. I imagine they will eventually appear and it is a case of being patient but it has taken me by surprise the lack of quality ROTJ cards.
Sure i can pay about three times more for an AFA graded card but i am not that interested in having them graded (although i have purchased a few graded), simply because they were well prices in comparison to non graded.

It has taken me a while to find - a nice Klaatu 65 back (i thought this would be simple), Weequay 65 back again I thought this would be a common card, it is if you want a beater. Nein Nunb i settled on a nice 77 back but have not seen a nice 65 back at a realistic price, Admiral Ackbar i again settled on an AFA graded 65 back as they too are not just about in the condition i am after. Those four i thought would be simple to get as they are not exactly high value figures imo but they have been hard.
