Guys, not sure what you think, but it seems to me that there is very litte information around regarding the vintage 12" line. If nothing else i'd like to see as much info as possible all in one place.
With that in mind i'm starting this thread and would love your contributions too.

First up is Chewbacca and a couple of things I have noticed...

The Chewbacca on the left is stamped 'Hong Kong', and on the right 'Korea'.
Notice the different colours in the mouth. (left, grey could be fading I suppose?)

Next the satchel and bandolier. As before 'Hong Kong' left, 'Korea' right.
Notice the 'leather' effect on the left bandolier v's the smooth finish on the right, and finer detail on the right satchel.

Finally, a close up of the Bowcaster.

More to follow. Please feel free to add anything at all.

I am actually working on this line on my website The Imperial Gunnery if you want to help out buddy

http://www.imperialgunnery.com/12inchaccessories.htm

I am mainly focused on the accessories and weapons and im looking for pictures of both REPRO's and Originals but i also want to put the variants of the 12 inch figures on there as well. I still have more pictures to add and when better quality pics come available i update the pictures already listed as well.

Your right about the lack of resources for this part of the line which is why getting the info i have so far has been an uphill battle.

I tired a thread on RS to see if people could help but it just fell off the first page thankfully spoons and a few others have been helping (Cheers Guys)

Jay

I never kneew there was such a mould differennce Paul. As Jay said it's difficult getting info on these, as surprisingly it's only a relative few that are into this line.

Paul do you have a photo of an original Luke sabre, I've been told mine is real but I've always been a bit sus.

Cheers

and Jay - I'll do you pics of the real Han Solo medal, Leia hair rings, Luke hook, and Chewie Bandolier clips this weekend

If anyone has an original Chewie bowcaster or Vader and Ben sabres for sale or trade let me know

Spoons. I had read before that there was a difference, but it was only this weekend that I was faced with it after picking up another Chewbacca on ebay.

As far as the sabre is concerned, I will add pics of mine. I have two Luke sabres (sadly one is mismatched to my Ben kenobi) which I believe are both legit however there are subtle differences, and so can understand your concerns with your own. One even has two air bubbles in the clear blue plastic.

Jay, I never thought to check your site, so thanks for the link. Kinda shot my thread down in flames   but i'll still press ahead with what I started and feel free to use any pics you want.

Cheers Paul - my Sabre is the one on Jay's website (I hope its original now  )

Like i said at this stage anyway im more interested in cataloging all the Original Weapons and Variants as well as REPROs.

Would you be able to do 2 separate photos of those Chewie bag variants?

Thanks Again

Yeah. Keep an eye on the original post and i'll separate them. Doubt it will be today now though - my kids need food.

Spoons, my two sabres......

Notice the top one has an indentation on the underside of the black part of the handle and the small bubbles in the blade of the lower one. No reason to think either is repro - just different.
I will also add that both of them leave black paint on the figures hands if left in place for any amount of time.

Finally, another addition. Lukes boots - made in Hong Kong.

take a look at Brian's toys - there are repro belts, bowcasters and all sorts. It's a vertiable minefield out there

Unfortunately, I cannot show any close-up shots of the jawas, but here are some boxed shots.

Lily Ledy:

Probably the most infamous jawa in existence. Released in Mexico in 1979 and part the famous "Second Wave", this had been unknown until the famous find in 1996. This is one of 27 boxed jawas from that lot in a Mexican Warehouse. Here is another shot, in case you were curious where the "body parts" came from.

Not your Sister's Barbie I guess.

Meccano Jawa:

Released in France and possibly other countries (Canada??) in 1979, the doll is the same as the American version. Of course the big difference's is the "Meccano" across the bottom of the box. A few minor changes are "JAWA" instead of Jawa and "Large Size Action Figure" is missing from this as well.

Star Wars Jawa:

Yes, pretty boring to some. The reason I love this piece and having major heartburn parting with it, is I wanted this SO BAD as a kid. I waited two Christmas's and never got one, though I begged my parents for this. I almost passed on the Auction, until I noticed a "Target" price sticker on it. It is still sealed on both sides, but I have resisted ripping it open just for kids sake.

I've been taking a few photos for Jay and noticed that my Han has his medal taped to his back. The tape is old but does anyone know if they came this way from the factory?

Yes, that is how it was packaged in the box.

much obliged Lee - and I'm very glad I didn't totally remove it for the photo :)
