Looks like another near complete set of 12/20 back Palitoy. I'm thinking the Death Star with shipping case will go a bit higher than the recent ones....the battle begins

Serious question - aside from if you're setting up an actual museum, what is the appeal of the trade boxes? I was trying to work out who I could give the box to if I won the ds, because I don't think it would get displayed in my collection!

To answer your question regarding the appeal to the trade box, some like to collect them and some people such as myself need item's like this for research purposes. Would be a great addition for a Palitoy researcher like myself.

I like them as well. I remember them from the Toy Shop so they've got some sentimental value for me, but there's lots of history in them as well and most aren't particularly expensive. I like the Kenner one's more, it' a shame the Palitoy cases have nothing similar.

Steam the tape off the bottom of the case and display it flat. Could look great.

I meant the death star, not the box of DSCs - while they are cool, I couldn't justify the sort of cash they'll fetch.

There was a Death Star but I don't think there was the trade carton. Could be wrong though i didn't check close enough. There was only one DS boxed in the box.

If you place an online bid in advance, but then decide to up the bid, does that clear your previous bid? So basically say you initially bid £200, but decide to up it to £300, and the only other bid by someone else was £100, when you win, will it be for £120 (£20 above the £100 bid) or does your £200 bid still count so you end up winning for £220?

As long as you bid on the same manner then the £120 would stand. If you bounce between two different systems then you bid against yourself.
