Vectis Auctions 24th & 25th Feb 2016

I loved the half-torn carded Tri-logo Yak Face that went for £320 before fees!

Somebody must have been desperate to complete their Last 16.5 collection

I'm guessing its already on its way to AFA and soon to reappear with a "U" preceding two digits

I went crazy last night bidding out of my comfort zone on about 10 things thinking I might win one or two but in the end I won none of them.

Congrats to all the winners. I'm still yet to bust me Vectis winning cherry!

The Kenner 20C AFA85 R5-D4 went for £660 hammer

So much for my poor little bid then....wow

Way.............. over priced. Been carefully following the 20bks. A mix of AFA and Vectis over hype.

A similar 20-c sold on eBay.com for $1,750 a week ago. I was also quite shocked to see two 20-g's both sell for over $2.5k

R5 seems to have his own fan club

I've never won anything before, what will happen now?
Do I get an invoice or do they just pack it and ship it, then deduct my card?

Yes you should get an invoice then pay for it online I suppose.
I won stuff in the Beeches auction on Tuesday and drove down and I payed by card there and then (no charge for debit but they charge if using credit). Not sure what they''ll charge for post and packing but it cost me about £15 in petrol.

I've had stuff shipped by Vectis before. They charge very reasonable rates considering the effort that goes into packing the items although a trilogo Yoda escaped due to them not wrapping the bubbles. They refunded me (I returned the Yoda and I think it was one of the burst bubbles one that sold yesterday) but that didn't replace the disappointment of a very nice MOC now lost. As for dispatch times they've improved but do still expect a couple of weeks.

when i was looking to sell my stuff with them, they said if i have a reserve price, they will `help` bid it up..
I may be wrong but I`m guessing if you bid 100 quid for example and the only other bid is 40 quid, they will bid it up to 90.
sometimes thats not the case, but it does happen; after all , who would rather have 20% of 40 quid than 20% of 100.

What you have said here is bringing their entire name into disrepute, and could well invoke legal action against you. They are a professional auction house.

Unless you have concrete evidence, i suggest you stop being a prick and keep your ****ing mouth shut. This is not a funny thing to do.

Mr Shifter( not a typo i hope)
unfortunately on this occasion I have to eat humble pie...I have emailed and spoken to a dozen auction houses about selling my batman and star wars collection..As of yet I havent been able to find the mail, but it may have been mentioned when I was speaking to them about the mechanics of the selling process.I did say maybe I misunderstood, but I`m not a complete idiot..And I dont make things up, It`s not my nature. I am 99.9% sure of what I was told/mailed..it may have been one of the US auctions, I also contacted some of the big boys as it will be easier to send my stuff there, but until I can find that proof for you, you have won this round..

Vectis would definitely not have said that. What they might have said was they'll put a reserve on an item and start it low to encourage the bids to go as high as possible but not sell below reserve price. They have a computer system that won't allow them to do what you have alluded to and all bids have to be accounted for. Any auction house that followed this practice wouldn't be around for long and I guess could be prosecuted.

I've heard that shill bidding is legal in most auctions apart from eBay.
