Pretty certain they don't start bidding at the bid you placed, they need another bidder to 'bid up' to that amount before the price reaches your bid.
I had a large bid on an item last year and it didn't reach the bid I placed.
I guess I can understand bidding on 55 lots so you don't miss a deal, but hasn't that potentially just bumped up a **** load of items for everyone else to pay for?stormcab said:I bid on 55 lots, just enough that I didn't miss a deal. I was really after 2 items, one of which I knew I had no chance of - the Italian DSC. Yeah no way I was paying £1375. Although I bid a good amount.
I however got my boy - AFA Graded 85 41A AT-AT Driver. £360 (£450). One of these with the exact same grade sold recently on eBay for $1500. RESULT.
