I know there have been a lot of Vectis threads recently but I think for each sale it's worth having a new thread. I went up there again today to collect some stuff and had a sneak peak at the next sale which will combine some more of the Palitoy ex employees stuff, Mark Jackson's collection and some more Beech's stuff. I begged Kathy to let me take a pic of the Death Star box with play sets inside, which she very kindly obliged. There is a lot of duplication but as you can see from what's missing from the last sale a lot of it they only had one example.

Thanks Andy, great to see whats coming up even if it is more of the same.
It will be interesting to see what yesterdays big ticket items will go for.

Not loving the sticky notes stuck down on some these rare beauty's, and the Palitoy 12 backs should be in star cases (After all, there's quite a few thousand pounds sitting there). Looks like another few great auctions coming up ahead of us. Great job Andy :D

Those look in such great condition.

Would love to be able to afford one of these items one day!

There is quite a bit of Action Man stuff still but not sure if it's going in the next one or not. Sorry.

Wow, that box of death stars is incredible. Great stuff. Do we know if that is then it, or is there more still to come after that?

Great pics Andy :D

Id tip my hat to the old Palitoy guy, he held on to these even past the PT release and hype :D

The only downside to this is that all those mint pieces will be going for grading at either UKG ir AFA and entombed forever, its bound to happen. Then, they will be sold off for silly money.

One last thing though, and ive said this before-Vectis are the most unprofessional, clatty looking auctioneers i have ever seen. Those figures/items should be cased properly and put behind glass displays. We are talking about thousands of pounds worth, not some batch of lawnmower engines. Giving a figure a yellowed, £1 star case doesnt show how much of a nice piece it is,does it?? And they charge 15% fees??? Absoultely pathetic, and a shame that they are now touted as 'THE' top uk auction house for collectables?? Absolute bollox. They need to sort it out.

What's with the 600/800 bollox on those 12 back Palitoys??

I don't collect MOC and even I know what a garbage.

True Stefan. Maybe Vectis should only take commission on the prices they predict and nothing past it. It proves they know **** all and it makes my blood boil. Even after all the recent auctions they still havent got a clue....

From experience toy auction estimates tend to be on the low side to draw the bidders in. This is common practice. With the Palitoy and Beech's sales the vendors have left full responsibility with Vectis to sell the items. Effectively there is no reserve and there doesn't need to be with the level of interest.

Hope they are not keeping them out like all the time in that sun

They were temporarily out to catalogue ready for auction. They are then put in star cases and into cardboard boxes out of sunlight.
