Variations worth collecting

I'd appreciate advice from everyone except for Iain and Bram on this for obvious reasons...

I've just complete the 100 loosies (photos of last 2 to appear soon) and I'm wondering which variations are really worth going for.

Here is what I have.

DT Luke, Ben, Vader
Small and Big Head Han
VC Jawa
Blue Snag
White and Gray hair Ben

And this is what I think is worth getting

Hollow Tubes Tusken
Burgundy cape Bib Fortuna
Snap cape Luke with Blue Sabre.
Orange, brown and Green? Snake Yoda



Anything I'm obviously missing? Not rocket Fett and stuff as they're prototypes.

I am thinking of letting most of mine go TBH & just keeping a standard loose set with major variations as i was quite in to variations many moons ago, but am focused in other directions now.

Think there is a pink ponch Leia, but don't think a Luke "nice boy" would go down that well with variant collecter, well not unless they are that way inclined :lol: :shock:

The Hollow cheeks/tubed tusken raider is a genuine variation.

damn it just re-read and saw that lol.

i dont count colours as proper variations as you can go on forever, the squid had has probably 7 or 8 shades of cape.

I think you have it pretty much covered there, i actually like the molded legged han hoth, but you can go onto a whole horde of others like tan limbed klaatu ect

Got to love the variations - this is so subjective

In my collection I have loads of different variants of each figure - so much so that I forget why they are different :lol:

I think that what has been said by others, that variations a very subjective is very true.
What i might consider a variation for eg.. will not be a variation to others.
But if you want to consider "all" variations, then Wolfe is your man.
From his last count, he was approching 1000, yes that's one thousand,
variant, and still has a few more HTF, to collect, which he is missing.
This number consists of all type of variant, meaning, colour, paint apps, sculpt, mold, accessories, COO, etc.. and includes the bootlegs in this number.
It seems that every figure can have aprox, 10 variants, more or less.
Variant collecting is a very long, educational, and fun process.

Personally I would stick at your 100 and be happy. I can understand maybe collecting all the variations of one character you really like but not buying every variation of every character. You're just fulfilling your addiction of having to buy something vintage every few days/weeks doing that.

I don't think I saw mention of the solid head/metallic head 4-LOM.

I understand why you're saying and dont really are for the slightly different coloured legs and COOs etc but the major ones (hence my question) do interest me. Just trying to get an objective definition really.

Glasslite C-3PO is a good one, instead of the metallic plating it's sprayed a dull gold colour. Also glasslite chewbacca has an unpainted pouch and comes with a zuckuss rifle?!??
