up the gunners!!

Leeds defended brilliant tonight.
Welcome back Henry. When Berkamp, Pires and David Seaman come back, we're gunner win the league

Henry back at Arsenal and Scholes back at United. Not sure on either TBH.

Henry to Arsenal makes a bit more sense as they have NOTHING up front beyond RVP, and given his and Arsenal's general record with injuries you can't rely on him all season.

Scholes back at United is, IMO, an inditement of United's finances, transfer policy (the issue with their midfield is three years old!) and shows the glarring lack of faith Fergy has in their young players/youth system. Yes, they have had a few injuries, but mainly in defence. I thought Fergy was supposed to be an expert in knowing when a players time had come!?

For the record and for those who think I'm being Anti-united, YES Liverpool have ****ed up majorly over the whole Suarez thing, and the incident last Friday night (which was hopefully just one lone idiot), and YES they probably would be better off if Kenny played himself upfront. Stewart Downing, what is the point!?

Your right about fergie weasel, united are sure running scared of there noisy neighbours at the moment.
Can I assume that you are a liverpool fan? They do look a much better team under Kenny. I do think they have messed up big time around the Suarez issue. Thet should just have kept there mouth shut. And Kenny wearing that T-shirt (what a plonker!).
My best football moment was watching arsenal and liverpool in the 89' title decider. I was only 11 and dad let me stay up to watch it. I dont mind telling you, I cried

Yeah I'm a Liverpool fan. Though hopefully not one of the deluded and paranoid sort. I HOPE I'm able to look at footy without the rose tinted specks on, well most of the time.

Still unsure about Kenny as boss. He is doing better than I feared, and obviously better than uncle Woy. I just worry that he may be a little short of top four. I don't know, it's still early days, he's only been in the job a year and he's had a fair bit to deal with.

As for Suarez, Jesus, where the **** do I start!?

I can understand, and indeed agree with the club sticking by their man until a decision had been made by the FA. BUT, they must have known his evidence was a little ehh inconsistent and that it wasn't looking too good. Surely, after the case had been held they would have rough idea what the outcome was going to be!? I mean it wasn't, from what I can gather from the FA report, even a particularly close call. So why not have a discreet word with the players and say "ehh boys, ditch the t-shirts!"
As I said, I agree with supporting your player until the verdict is reached and I don't particularly like Evra as a person (regardless of his United attachment) but even so what Suarez said/did, in this day and age is not on, and is asking for a serious punishment. Especially given the FA are trying to stick two fingers up to FIFA and show they are whiter than white and take this stuff seriously (no "handshakes" for them).

As for the whole defence of "well it's ok in his country." That's right up there along side "well, he started it!"

I suspect/hope that the fact Evra was black was merely coincidental. Suarez was trying to wind him up and jumped on the first/most obvious way he could think of. I suspect/hope, had Evra been white Suarez would have slagged him about being ginger/ugly/****/a **** etc etc. BUT, that doesn't for a second excuse him from racially abusing someone.

As for Friday night, I HOPE that was just one lone idiot who had too much to drink or spouted something he would never normally say. I can only hope if/when he is charged the club ban him for life.

All in though, it's been a pretty ****ing awful 2 weeks for Liverpool FC from a PR point of view!

As for '89.........Yes, I remember the game, I can't say they are fond memories though!

I agree that Liverpool have not helped themselves. However in slight defence of Suarez, he is right that over in South America the term he used is not disrespectful at all. My missus is Colombian and says that it is just a term used to describe darker skin, in fact her Mum used to be called it affectionately by her Dad. I understand the whole 'while he plays in this country he must play by our rules' thing and it was obviously a bad choice of words but I am not sure he understood the implications - which is probably why he repeated it at the tribunal.

Granted, but surely tone comes into it!?

I mean if my best mate was black and I called him the "N" word (in an affectionate/friendly way) that's one thing, but if I walk up to a black guy on the football pitch and call him it to his face while preceeding and following it with a tonne of other insults, that's surely a totally different kettle of fish!!?

PS, Colombian missus!? How'd you manage that!?

Ha ha - the joys of internet dating!

I think you are right and I do not know how things were said on the football pitch but if this word is not offensive where Suarez comes from then is it any different (in his eyes) from calling someone ginger, fatty or baldy which I am sure happens on the pitch all the time.

There is no defence for racism but I can sometime understand ignorance

I think the whole thing sums up what a 'cotton wool culture' we currently live in. Listen, dont think for one second I agree with what Suarez, and others in the recent past done, but if suarez thinks its ok to use racist language, it should be ok for Evra to smack him in the mouth.

I'd second that. Imagine how much more exciting football would be with random fights breaking out everywhere. 8)

I think there is too much of an obsession with all this racist stuff at the moment ,half of the stuff you cannot say would not really offend the people but because someone has said its racist they all now complain about it .
But the black Mp says something and its just "been taken out of context" but what gets me is how can a black man give a racist remark to another black man ?

And thats another thing ,a few years ago we were told not to call them black people but should say coloured but now its the other way round ??

Completely agree with you there Weaz! :) Looking forwsrd to fa cup game and could get tickets to the league match at OT! :D

As I think I said else where, it may be an idea if Pool and United got together and agreed that when United came to Anfield Evra would be "rested" and when Pool went to OT Suarez would be "rested" that way the situation would be slightly less hostile. But, knowing the way Pool are going ATM...............

Arsenal where poor defensively today oh and Andrey Arsavin? Barely Championship leavy quality! :?

Whats your oponion on Sundays Arsenal vs Manchester United Clash Neil? My Predo - 3-1 to United! :)

One step foward, and two back mate. I agree with you. If arsenal score one they'll done well. United aren't great at the moment, but a poor united are better than a poor arsenal. They seriously need to be busy during this window! :x
