I like being a troll............But really there is nothing to get on track with we dont own it and none of us will probably ever own it and cant control what did and will happen to it....and all cant agree.

A quote from this similar thread on RS.....

"I did get a good laugh reading the UK thread these past few days though. I'll take the same old from the same old faces on RS any day. At least we're not sheep. "

Seems we are mindless sheep.

No comment.

Well only one....The guy who wrote this is a total ass.

Just re read this and the 18 page U grade thread. It was about 5 months ago (approx) that this issue really exploded in the hobby although the rot / damage had already taken hold and MOC's and Baggies were disappearing left right and center prior to Ruliar94's AFA Gold Grade MOC destruction for a U90 that kicked off the first big debate. I saw arguments that people wont collect loose because its to risky with Repros and the wrong weapons so i decided to try and create a website to overcome this (my way to help so to speak). Fastfoward to now and a thread on smokers gets more replies

I feel that a lot of people gravitate to the drama more than the issue itself at times proven by all those that have come out of the woodwork to respond (Im talking about RS more here) what is it 7000 views or something? good for Lafos Blog either way lol

Although I think your site was needed in the loose collecting world Jay,I don't think it will stop people buying AFA graded figures because of fear of repros, thats not to knock your site (because its comprehensive and involved a lot of work) that's aimed at the people buying AFA.

Not saying they are lazy but , well ok, in a way I am: They won't be going through page after page of weapons and returning to buying loose figures when they really think buying AFA eradicates the chances of buying repro weapons, they will continue buying AFA graded figures.

Perhaps if that is another aim of the site you should edit your thread and explain the purpose to the AFA crowd as well ? I know I wasn't expecting it to turn AFA collectors into loose collectors, perhaps no-one else realises that's a part of the reason for the site as well?

Understand where your coming from Joe I was more highlighting that it was at the start of the U Grade thread and the big one on RS about ruliar94 that gave me the idea to do the site as people (more new collectors cited repros wrong weapons etc as a reason to for AFA loose. I know the AFA must be reasuring for new or casual collector who worries about there lack of experience etc.

My point was more that many people who don't really post other topics that are positive for the hobby take for example the proof thread started last year a few people kicked off about it not getting attention due to the overwhelming amount of Variant threads at the time but it has since reached 6 pages. It was actually bumped this week but with the ongoing rat race to have an opinion on the DT saga it was completely overlooked and allowed to drop off the first page :(

I know mate :( We could blame Lafos!

Now if you had gone with the Christmas launch like I said ;) haha only yanking your chain, don't worry sometimes resources like yours take a while to get fully appreciated, you know from speaking to other collectors and collaborators on your site that their own efforts through the years were not appreciated enough.

Sometimes not everyone posts on something they actually find useful, that's another thing, everyone loves an argument but when it comes to saying " great site, thanks for the hard work " it's too hard to put their hands on the keyboard.

I'm reluctant to lock this thread as still think most people are able to have a fairly informed/reasoned debate.
I don't think Grant/Josh are ever going to agree though, and if they want to continue discussing it, I would suggest maybe PM is the way to go.

As for Jay's site, I think Joe has a pretty valid point. Ppl are much keener to read/join in a witch hunt and post on those threads (here and especially on RS) than post saying how useful they found a/your site/link/etc. I wouldn't take offence at it mate, chances are your site will be incredibly useful to a lot of people, unfortunately they will show their gratitude to you, by..........................well, ignoring you!

Nice of JohnA to read on here but not feel the need to comment. Or should be that be not be brave enough to insult us in person, but do it on RS!
