What a mess. It just gets worse as I try to work out how to move forward. I'm trying to pin down the amount of money that I stand to lose. Are we talking a 10% drop (fat chance) or a complete collapse down to the value of uncarded figures?

I could use a third party to pass my MOCs on for 50% of their value to some unsuspecting mugs who don't know the story. But I don't want to rip anyone off.

I can't buy because everything I see is tainted with the possibility that it's a Toni. I daren't buy unaffected figures because I'm still not confident that I know the tells.

Jason has done a great job identifying the rotten apples, but part of me wishes that he had kept his mouth shut for another thirty years. I used to see beautiful pristine Palitoy cards and crystal clear blisters. But now I just see proof that I've been taken for ride.

So what's happened/happening/going to happen to prices? Is there someone out there happy with my rejects? I'm sure there are many collectors itching to get their hands on Toni's ironing but with a possible 25,000 duds out there how many years will it take for the market to settle down? I wish I'd collected Beanie Babies.

The truth is there are no answers yet, it will take time. And none of this stuff has actual value anyway, it's just cardboard and plastic so the value is all down to hype.

Personally I would happily pay ~£25 each for TT MOCs because they look cool, but as for 'actual' value (ie compared to a genuine MOCs) it's anybodies guess right now, ranging from completely worthless to 90%.

Toni should see his cheaper now,

Personally if it was me and i really wanted rid off, I would stick them for sale at the lowest price i would be willing to sell them for, mention they are Toni cards with some history behind it and let the buyer decide (even though there is not yet 100 percent proof what cards he has actually done)
People might say but what about when the buyer wants to sell them on and dont disclose this......well not everyone is dodgy and you cant monitor everything you sell to see if the next person uses a made up story and if people are prepared tp spend 100s of pounds on items should do a bit of research.

I reckon some will hold around 50% value, and others not so much. However, the AFA'd ones could end up selling for relatively good money seeing as though they are already in an acrylic case, mounted on original cards, and use original bubbles (some are still doubting the bubbles-but i dont think TT is that stupid)last but not least,he used high quality loose figures. For display value alone, they are worth a punt. The backstory of them, and the fact that they got past AFA's scrutiny could well add more appeal to them, not a lot but it will happen. One thing is for sure, you aint getting what you paid :( and ALL Palitoys are now going to be scrutinised, which has terrible consequences for original shop bought, collectors MOC pieces. This is without a doubt,THE biggest scam ever in the community itself.I myself even think Toni had more stuff than thought, and possibly had Palitoy logo'd cards-which we will probably never know.

judging by what ive seen on ebay a lot are still fetching really good prices im assuming as people dont know about TT, and even the ones with disclaimers have been going for around what they normally would or just a little less , granted some are selling a fair bit less tho but on a whole in terms of ebay sales i dont think its making too much dfrnce unless its the higher ball moc the ones well into the hundreds those are the ones worst hit as for obvious reason people are put off forking out hundreds so they have lost a lot of value in most cases

In the majority of the palitoy cards, Toni used the wrong bubbles for the card/figure combo, and the seals are weak. So if there are doubts about
other figures/combos, let me know and I'll take a look.

Also, only certain cardback types were manufactured at Coalville so the other types are Toni free. So far, we know he had 45b, 45c, 65c and 65d cards.

cheers Jason

Not sure what the effect on prices is, but I think I'm going to have to find out. No job or money so am in a position where I now have to sell.
With full disclosure and links to my guide obviously.

cheers Jason

This is really sad to hear Jason and I do hope that you keep your early 12/20 backs at least. You are MR Palitoy after all and if there's anyway to keep your head financially above water until a job comes along then you should really try to take it without breaking up your prized Palitoy's.

I feel for you and wish you all the best for something coming along soon.

Sorry to hear that Jason.
Both the lack of job and the financial strain as well as your collection being broken up. There are more important things than toys, obviously, but it's never nice seeing a collection sold off. Fingers crossed you find something else soon.

The economy is on the up I'm sure something will turn up soon Jason - good luck

i am still seeing these TT fetts put for sale on ebay with totally stupid prices even without the scandal and no mention of TT in any of them.
Either they dont know or they are stupid as if u wanted rid of these knowing they are not the real deal, you would put them at a realistic price to try to shift them.

Thanks for the kind words and messages guys.

If I do sell, it'll be crappy Tonis out the door first!

:)

Jason

Sorry to hear you out of a Job currently Jason. I know what its like, my wife lost her job last month aswell due to reorganisation in the company...

Hope you find a new job soon and don't have to sell off your collection mate.

Cheers, Dennis.

Good luck with the job hunting mate, it's hard but will come good and you will get back on top, everything is relative, perspectives change with shifts in circumstance, but things will come good, lots of positivity coming your way  best of luck bud :D

Gonna find out exactly the effect on prices soon, seller on ebay just listed a ton of definite TT stuff all at 1p start price. Be very interesting to see what happens next.

this actually sold for more than toni was sellin it for on ebay a few months back ,it had a disclaimer of sorts

I have two Toytonis I'm going to be listing on ebay soon. I thought I would be ok with them but I'm not. I would rather get some money back and buy something else for my collection.

I am going to put them up with a link to the toytoni evidence thread on here, along with full disclosure to their origin, ie they were bought directly from the iron man himself.

Am I allowed to link to the forum on ebay. Do you guys think I should put any other info on the listing?

I will start them at the minimum I will take for them and then we will see if they are worth it or not.
