Hey guys
Some of you may have seen this on Rebelscum. A new series launches tonight in the US on the travel channel. Its presented by Jordan from Hollywood Heroes. Jordan has been in the community as long as I can remeber and has been behind some of the greatest finds of action figure prototypes from the 80s/90s. He really knows his stuff and he is always willing to share pics/info with the community.
Here is a bit he wrote on RS about the first episode
Hi folks-
I wanted to take a moment and invite the vintage community to see our show TOY HUNTERS which premiers Sunday night on Travel Channel. It's on at 11pm, and I hope you will all watch the show LIVE. The live viewership counts towards ratings, as opposed to DVRs.
The show followed me to New York Comic Con last in October, I think some of you may have seen us filming. It's a great "behind the scenes" look of what dealers go through. We travel to Cincinnati, Dayton, and Miami.
It's no secret that my first love is Star Wars, and the support of this forum means so much to me... both professionally and personally. While "Star Wars" is going to be a very small part of an overall series ( in fact, we have no more episodes planned for the line), I feel that this community will appreciate the overall history of the toys we cover, and the different lines.
Now, I did want to bring something up: SPOILER ALERT: There is an error in the first episode where I am describing the back of a ROTJ card. I'm explaining the reasoning behind "blacking out" the Ewoks. We did several takes, and unfortunately, the one in the show is where I mis-spoke ( I caught myself and that was the reason for reshoots).
I think everyone will enjoy it. If it rates high enough we will go to series and look at some great toys.
So this is where we can do something! Rather than waiting for this to show up on a torrent site if we all ask Travel channel or our Sat providers for it, it should get on their radar. Here is a link to their site http://www.travelchannel.com/about/viewer-relations it will take 2 secs to bang them an email about the show.
Thanks fellas
