Hey guys

Some of you may have seen this on Rebelscum. A new series launches tonight in the US on the travel channel. Its presented by Jordan from Hollywood Heroes. Jordan has been in the community as long as I can remeber and has been behind some of the greatest finds of action figure prototypes from the 80s/90s. He really knows his stuff and he is always willing to share pics/info with the community.

Here is a bit he wrote on RS about the first episode

Hi folks-

I wanted to take a moment and invite the vintage community to see our show TOY HUNTERS which premiers Sunday night on Travel Channel. It's on at 11pm, and I hope you will all watch the show LIVE. The live viewership counts towards ratings, as opposed to DVRs.

The show followed me to New York Comic Con last in October, I think some of you may have seen us filming. It's a great "behind the scenes" look of what dealers go through. We travel to Cincinnati, Dayton, and Miami.

It's no secret that my first love is Star Wars, and the support of this forum means so much to me... both professionally and personally. While "Star Wars" is going to be a very small part of an overall series ( in fact, we have no more episodes planned for the line), I feel that this community will appreciate the overall history of the toys we cover, and the different lines.

Now, I did want to bring something up: SPOILER ALERT: There is an error in the first episode where I am describing the back of a ROTJ card. I'm explaining the reasoning behind "blacking out" the Ewoks. We did several takes, and unfortunately, the one in the show is where I mis-spoke ( I caught myself and that was the reason for reshoots).

I think everyone will enjoy it. If it rates high enough we will go to series and look at some great toys.

So this is where we can do something! Rather than waiting for this to show up on a torrent site if we all ask Travel channel or our Sat providers for it, it should get on their radar. Here is a link to their site http://www.travelchannel.com/about/viewer-relations it will take 2 secs to bang them an email about the show.

Thanks fellas

In case you haven't got around to watching it...here is a link that works outside of the US.

http://www.1channel.ch/tv-2731879-Toy-Hunters/season-1-episode-1

just scroll down till you see Toy Hunter Links on the left side... click a version with the most stars/votes... I clicked Version 4 as Version 1 link was dead... a new window will open... choose method of access, click the Continue as Free User button... the page will change to the viewer/player... when it does, just click to play on the arrow box on the right side of the screen... should work, I have no problems... just have a pop up stopper on tho, a few pop up adds will open up on your pc...

Full torrent on Pirate Bay too if you don't wanna stream.

Must have watched this show 5 times now. Really hoping it gets picked up.

Glad I got to check this out finally, I enjoyed it even though some bits were obviously hammed up for the camera (Rocket Fett find wasn't a surprise it was 100% manufactured lol) but at the same time you gotta look past that and think - wow a show about the toys I collect!

I think it's fun!

Apparently the viewing numbers have been good so fingers crossed we will have this on a regular basis

Just watched this. Thought it was excellent. Exact same format as American Pickers (as i thought it might be) which is one of my favourite shows.
I think this is the sort of show that could bring a whole new wave of collectors too the hobby which can only be a good thing.
The scene in the comic shop was awesome and i like to think, tho it was scripted as if they didn't, they bought those carded figures he had in the boxes. You'd need your head examined to walk out of there without them!
So have they made a full series of this or is it just a pilot? Look forward to seeing more of these. Hopefully.

Hey Pete this was Just a Pilot. Although Jordan says he has 6 hour long shows ready to run. He is just waiting for the final viewing figures from the Travel Channel and a final decison to see if he has the go ahead for a series. :)
