Top 5 OT scenes (possible spoilers)

Since we have a thread for the TFA top 5, lets do a top 5 for all the OT films(all 3, only 5 scenes)

Mine are:
In no particular order
1- stormies blast their way into the rebel cruiser(first stormie reveal followed by the daunting Vader, ok, this is my favourite of them all)
2- luke as a jedi hologram in jabbas palace
3- vader and luke duel on Bespin
4- luke and vader speaking on endor
5- luke giving in to his anger and striking towards the emperor in rotj...

Great thread Jorn,

Mine would have to go as follows:

1 Luke sunset scene on Tatooine ( such an iconic scene and why I love the LFB cards so much )

2 Jabba's Sail Barge ( in particular when Luke does his flip and catches the saber, this is the scene where Luke for me turns into a badass )

3 Endor speeder bike chase ( epic, especially for a wide eyed 10yr old )

4 Vader and Luke duel on Bespin ( no back flips or jumping 20 stories mixed with martial arts and ballet, how a saber fight should look. )

5 First appearance of AT-At's in Hoth Battle ( the exact moment you realise the rebels are done in this fight )

Great idea

1. Battle of Hoth (all of it. Refuse to split it)
2. The Final Duel (particularly when Darth is making his mind up to hoist the Emperor)
3. Binary sunset
4. Detention block raid "We're all fine here..."
5. Speeder Bikes on Endor

1) Luke and Vader lightsabre battle in ESB - the absolute pinnacle of the trilogy IMO
2) Luke looking over the 2 suns in ANH - the music gives me goose bumps every time!
3) Hoth battle
4) Ewok battle
5) Final death star assault in ROTJ, incredible effects for 1983

That's why I disliked the Han scene in TFA so much. The ROTJ meeting of father and son was far more dignified and believable.

So many good scenes do very hard to do! I'll go with:

The Bounty Hunter gathering in ESB

Final throne room battle in ROTJ

Jabbas Palace, incl. Leia Slave outfit :lol:

Trench Run from SW

"I am your Father" scene from ESB

Really tough to pick just five, but here goes.

1. The cantina scene.

2. Falcon asteroid chase - from beginning to end, Boba Fett being one step ahead of them.

3. Stormtrooper fight in Cloud City with Leia, Chewy and Lando chasing Han/escaping on the Falcon - I've always like this sequence as you see Stormtroopers in a completely different environment, the same with the Falcon being chased by Tie Fighters amongst the clouds. I really like all the Cloud City stuff.

4. Speeder Bike chase - particularly Luke deflecting the Speeders lasers.

5. The final Death Star II space battle, still the best space battle in any movie.

Ideally I'd pick about 15 stand out moments, but these are the parts I look forward to the most having watched these films countless times. Honorable mention has to go to Jawas, Chewy barking at the droid, Han's "everything's fine... How are you?" speech, Jabba, the Emperor, and Darth Vader deciding between Luke and the Emperor.

Oh wait a minute, I misread that, I thought I read "top 5 WORST OT moments"

actually then

1 - The proceeding moment in ROTJ to Lando saying "fighters coming in". Almost certainly my favourite ever movie "moment"
2 - AT-ATs
3 - Throne/medal scene. The music is what I want to hear on my deathbed. Just well up thinking about it.
4 - "WHAT?", "YOU'RE ALL CLEAR KID, NOW LET'S BLOW THIS THING AND GO HOME"
5 - The slow pan into Vader's mask as Luke is being electrocuted, then throwing the emperor. Again, welling up thinking about it.
