Tonigate air date on Fake Britain

Hmm, so they don't actually "out" Toni at any point. Thought this would be the nail in his coffin but it really doesn't do anything at all in regards to affecting him or his reputation. It's clear even Jason was instructed to refer to them as "fakes" and not "ToyTonis" for libel reasons, i can only assume.

Toni must be very relieved. And, no doubt, reopening the boxes of bubbles and cards.

I recoreded it at home, but i couldn't wait so i watched it allready in the provided link.

Anyway, it was nice to see and apart from the sotrmtrooper /kenner cardback mistake i quit liked to facts it's brought out to attention of the general public. Sadly, like pete says, the affected cards are only referenced as "Fakes" and the creator as "Faker", i was kinda hoping they would be able to call Toni out.

Also like to mention i noticed a Custom Blue snag moc in your display case and liked how you have the Celebration swag on display also on your helmets.

100% agreed. A travesty that Toni wasn't named.

It's some kind of legal thing, I think it depends on how much evidence they have and how far with the police they have taken it as to whether they can name the faker or not.

I had to film 2 versions of everything, one calling him the faker, and one calling him Toni, so they could figure out later if they were going to name him or not.

Jason

Interesting up to a point, but not naming him was a mistake. Calling him 'The Faker' makes him sound like a Batman villain, not someone who has scammed the collecting community out of thousands of pounds. But well done Jason for explaining everything so well, it's a difficult scam to explain in a few minutes but you came across very well.

Just wish Roger Cook was still around, he'd of been banging on Toni's door demanding answers, lawsuit or not.

That's interestting. Yeah, it was clear everyone was avoiding using his name for legal reasons. You can get in a lot of trouble causing someone of a crime on national television if you're not prepared or able to back it up legally.
People they "name and shame" on these programs often already have convictions against them or, at least, arrests based on their wrong doings. In legal terms all ToyToni has against him is here-say.

Good job all the same Jason.
What it has done is made people more aware that there are fakes on the market and they need to be more careful. My mum phoned me earlier to tell me all about these fake Star Wars toys she'd seen on telly this morning and i ought to be checking my collection.

You'd better go check then! Mums the word!

Yeah well done for getting on the big screen! famous now, and you seemed a natural infront of the camera, no nerves at all. great stuff!

Should've been pointed out that these have fooled both UKG and AFA, at least in the bit where the guy from the auction house checked out the snowie and
tie pilot, they were both graded

Thanks. The producer/cameraman was also very good at putting you at your ease which helped too.

I was filmed throwing the book at AFA, but they decided not to mention them or UKG in the cut. Again, maybe for legal reasons?

cheers Jason

I wonder how many people are now listing 4-Loms and Klaatus with no capes on the Bay now with a BIN of £50

They have been doing this for years anyway...

What's really worth the money is a Chewie in a Yoda cape

Really thought it covered most stuff quite well considering the 10mins slot.
I was annoyed with the way they got the so called expert auctioneers involved since they've been auctioning these fakes (unbeknown to them I suppose) for years and profiting. In an ideal world comments from TT and UKG would have been good but I presume they would have / did refuse any approachs from the show. Does anyone know how the Police investigations are coming on?
And you were excellent Jason as the leading man and your collection after just 10 years of collecting looks sweet especially that full set of Palitoy 12 backs.
