Am I missing something or is he asking the best acrylic case to preserve the graded acrylic case it is already in? He does know that the grading case has no bearing on the items value, right?!

You are joking right? The case is worth more than the toy

Regarding the meccano 65 back luc, there is a reason that there is only one graded.

Meccano rotj 65backs have an incredibly weak seal. This has been seen in a number of examples, even to the point where tape was factory applied to some figures. It is mentioned in Stephane's books as well. I have a taped example (not luc) and you can see how poorly held down the bubble is.

Shipping this thing, grading it, and then trying to ship it again is going to all end in tears for someone. Mark my words.

I hope the piece ends up in someone's hands safely and out of the case, but a little part of me hopes that greed here means he ends up £1000s out of pocket.

So, just got accepted into a FB buying/selling/collecting group for MIMP, and upon reading the usual admin pinned post describing the 'page rules' I was expecting to see the usual load of ******** patronising rules treating people like little 5 year olds, but instead seen this.

Now this is how it's ******* done!

Someone asked for an 80 grade MOC to be valued, I checked the tracker and found none, checked ungraded and found the average to be just under £170 do said maybe £300 (quite a generous grade premium imo) yet the next comment from a dealer is that it's s £400 MOC. Does actual market data count for nothing or would that just **** up peoples investment/margin too much :?:

This one has to take the biscuit. I mean come on, WTF is he smoking. 10,000 euros for this. **** off!!!

That's almost as bad as that custom MOC where there's nothing in the bubble and the name of the figure on the card is "The Force"

I saw this earlier, initially thought it was a joke, but then read that it had a COA.
Was there no quality control, how did it ever leave the factory?
Intresting item, never seen this before and then saw the asking price!
He does say that he's testing the waters, will be interesting to see what happens, especially on FB!

To be fair, that it even exists is pretty unbelievable, the fact it survived 30 odd years even more surprising. You could probably guarantee its the only one in the world.

Those blasters are worth 10k alone these days aren't they?

I'm calling ******** on this one in Jason's group last week. Finding this in an old lady's yard sale....right. He gave himself away in one of his replies. After I called him out on it, no more replies lol. Lots of very credulous people on FB though. I think he would have been crucified had he tried something like this on here.

*Places stack of comics in the background as proof he bought the figures with boxes of comics*

And if it was genuine then wouldn't Vader and Ben also have DT sabers from that same time period?

Just seems to me like he's trying to show off on facebook for attention. :?

There's a **** on ebay with a loose graded Ewok Catapult wanting daft money, over £100 if memory serves. And that's with no box. Surprisingly been for sale for months. Of all the items to grade, an Ewok Catapult...why, just why!?

I saw somebody trying to sell a UKG 80 loose Taun Taun for £100 earlier today. We'd all be rich if £20 toy + grading = £50 profit every single time. Some people just don't get it.

I'm sure that you have pretty much just described a celebrity dealers business model, watch out in case he sues for the IP rights

Yes you're right, but his profit margin is more like $1000 per item, and it's his reputation that sells the items, not the items themselves. He could grade one of his turds and there would be a queue of morons wanting to buy it.

You have a point though, I wonder if it is these high profile parasites encouraging other people to give it a go?
