Looks like it's **** season

That Luke is pretty special  best looking card with crystal clear bubble. I remember years ago when Dogatuna had loads for sale on RS.

Yeah for $5000 (or even $1000 considering nice yellow ones go for $500) I'd want a lifetime guarantee! I was talking to Darren about clear bubbles at Farthest From and he said he's had to replace lots that have turned over the years since buying them as clear

Delusion is a good word. Just feels like an arms race to absurdity.

I cant believe collectors have faith in these decades old ultra thin plastic bubbles.

Its is funny that clear bubble collectors have accidently trained themselves as professional mogwai minders.

The rules of vintage bubbles:

01: Keep out of sunlight
02: Keep away from water
03: Never feed it (after midnight)

I wouldn't hesitate to feed it after midnight, i'd end up with about 30 of em and i'd be loaded. 8)

This is exactly why I'm not fussed about a bit of yellowing on a bubble. Of course a clear bubble is preferable, but I won't pay a huge premium for one. I'm more concerned with a nice clean card free of wear and creases.

In the case of yellowing over time, it's true I guess, to an extent, that it is inevitable. But I've seen many times, often when people post photos of their collection, where they have their MOCs on display in full sunlight, or right above a radiator. Sometimes I think you should need a license to collect these sort of things. Prove you have enough grey matter to store/display them in a way that gives them the best chance of maintaining their integrity for many years to come. There was a once beautiful Luke Farmboy with a high AFA grade on ebay recently that had been destroyed because it had been left in sunlight. The moron still wanted top dollar for it.

Preventing bubble from going yellow is like looking for the fountain of youth to stop getting old and looking for eternal life! :D

Depends on your circumstances. If you are a multi millionaire then $5000 is chicken feed for an extremely rare CB moc. If it eventually goes yellow then what the ****, if you can afford it, enjoy it while you can.
