FB is like a penis comparing competition, if you showcase something lots of people will say WOW and one will come along and say look at mine it's bigger and better than yours!!! :lol:

It's a shame eBay's search only goes back 3 months because if it went back a year, you would have conclusive proof that Facebook is responsible for price increases. There was no such thing as a "red bar" R5-D4 a year ago, eBay search history would prove it.

I always thought it was 6 months.

If you do a Google search you can sometimes get ebay searches come up that when you click on they are no longer available........... the point of this is I'm pretty sure the google search also shows the price, I may be wrong though :?

'YPS Trooper' with regular weapon and then a silver gun 80GBP - so basically about 50GBP for the wrong weapon

These 'YPS' Troopers are so regularly found in Europe that it is crazy what people are charging for them - and to add it the wrong weapon when it has nothing to do with Star Wars is not cricket
 
Wait they are selling YPS with silver guns now? That makes a total mockery of the idea that there are no fakes or repro on Facebook then. It also means I'm rich as I've quite a few of those silver SA80s.

That's nearly as retarded as the idiocy going on in a certain Trilogo orientated group ;) Someone has just put a value on a reseal Jawa of $1,200 - $1,400. Yes, US dollars. And this is after I'd gone off on one when two people suggested £500.

All three of those valuations were by folk who I consider overpay for things and, subsequently, ask way too much for things when they sell. Trouble is, they end up giving these valuations and then others believe what they want and before you know it reseal Jawas are catching up with VCJs.

I've not been much part of this thread because I don't believe the anti-FB theme on it is helpful nor particularly justified as there are far more reasons for the price increases and to simply blame FB is short sighted. However, with goings on like this it can make it hard to defend.
 
Problem is, because of the collections these guys have and the way facebook works, people see lots of pictures of high end items posted, assume these guys are on point, read their comments and take them as gospel, so when the item comes up for sale at high prices they jump all over it. People quote the sale as a point of reference and then every sale is up at that price.

I have noticed that prices have dropped on a lot of sought after items 12backs , Palitoy etc and the prices on FB are too high , I have noticed lots of better deals on eBay !! :D
 
I for all its faults, I stand by Ebay. Next to Farthest From its my shopping destination of choice for Vintage.

In the last 18 months all I've bought from FB is Weequay and ESB Jawa MOC. I can't stand the ego's, greed and frenzy.

That's like internally fixing the prices by the 'experts'! :lol: A few banks got done for fixing the libor rate and got done for it!! We need a Star Wars ombudsman to monitor? :shock:

By the looks of the past few days £270 is a good price for a loose blue snaggletooth and over £100 for a loose hollow tubes Tusken !! WTF is going on ??
