Today on Facebook...

I know I'm not the best qualified to say this having collected 8D8 items for the last 10 years...but ****ing hell, people are absolutely ****ing mental!

£100+ for a loose R5 with a slightly different sticker? A "hard to find" variant that seems to all of a sudden pop up daily on Facebook now that people are spending silly money on them? Bonkers, absolutely bonkers.

fools and there money!

Saw somebody earlier asking why their AFA 85 12 back Vader "only" sold for $2000 on eBay. What, you mean you can't just spend 2 grand on Star Wars figures and double your money overnight? Get out of here! I thought SW collecting was basically free money!

Slave 1 ramp sold in an auction group for $US13 'valued ' at 35 pounds in another group, troop transporter cover unsold at $US5 selling for 20 pounds. People need to expand their horizons- surely postage & import tax is not that much??

It's a shame eBay's search only goes back 3 months because if it went back a year, you would have conclusive proof that Facebook is responsible for price increases. There was no such thing as a "red bar" R5-D4 a year ago, eBay search history would prove it.

I agree , I have got a few bargains on eBay in the last couple of weeks . Definitely FB prices high !!

Unless I am selling stuff

I am 100% of the opinion the rise of Star Wars collecting through facebook is responsible for two things.

1. The rise in price of stuff for sale. A price point of £100 seems to be the amount people are willing to throw away on something they must have, but it is happening across the board.

2. A change of mentality of collector. People these days can't be bothered or maybe don't even want to know what they have. All they want to do is get a virtual pat on the back because they have 5 parcels a day coming in. That's not what this hobby is all about.

Step aside and let the big boys in...why in the world would anybody else collect for a reason other than this.

FB is like a penis comparing competition, if you showcase something lots of people will say WOW and one will come along and say look at mine it's bigger and better than yours!!!

I always thought it was 6 months.

If you do a Google search you can sometimes get ebay searches come up that when you click on they are no longer available........... the point of this is I'm pretty sure the google search also shows the price, I may be wrong though :?

Latest is £32 for an ATST driver
