:shock: thats alot of mulan too fork out especially when theres doubt in the piece

Saw it on the news...amazing price...but as you say without definite provenance bloody hell :?: :!:

Iconic and the holy grail though for Titanic collectors.

The bandleader in question, was from Colne, I was born there and there's a statue to him.

Story sounds a bit far fetched to me. How could anyone ever be 100% sure? Lot of money to gamble

It's a shame he didn't play something bigger like a double bass - the case would have done nicely as a life raft.

Seeing items like that gives me goosebumps, its like being able to reach back in time and touch history. Amazing piece in fairness, I reckon its provenance has been proved as far as possible for something like this.
