timpsons watch battery ripoff

went to timpsons to get a new battery in my watch , paid 19.95 as i assumed it was a top quality battery ...next day i came across a removel tool so i bought it and opened the back of the watch and boy what a flippin surprise the battery they fitted was a renata which cost 99p on ebay !!

i complained but they said most of the cost was for insurance , removel of watch back , setting of time hahaha lol

just a heads up folks if any of you are thinking of going there :evil:

i assume its if anything happens to watch when its in there care lol , do what i did mate , buy a watch back removel knive they are on ebay at 4 or 5 quid then when you know what type of battery you need again ebay , i got a box of 10 for a fiver and they fit the wifes watch as well :mrgreen:

No wonder their in financial trouble

they cant expect people to give them repeat business when they charge extortionate prices :evil:

To be fair they do guarantee them for life, and the bloke at the till's got to be paid

Even so you'd expect a quality battery
