This might be interesting.......

It is amazing the number of them that actually want to deal with this woman. I would not touch a thing she is selling...keeps changing stories. Yes...her grammer is similar to Karens.

She brings out the best in you Todd, some grammar detective work you, Tie Fighter Holmes

This made me chuckle....

they were bought in 1977 and put into a safe

I often do that myself, spot something brand new that I have a hunch will be worth something in 37 years time and stick it in a safe.

I want to see what else materialises so we can gauge the size of this safe.

As said all bought in 1977 when in fact the figures didn't come out till 1978

You never heard of the Early Safe mail away set?

You got a safe and the first 12 before anyone else but only if your swore to keep them locked in the safe until the release of the Episode VII trailer.

I expected more knowledge from you PJ

I've got one of these still sealed, the key is still in it's Kenner bag to prove it.

Any idea on what a fair price for these is ? Providing everything is in order etc

Seriously?

I'm not sure that's an "I'm going to bid on these", but I think more of a "what do a complete set of ungraded Kenner 12's go for these days"

At least I hope so.

Possibly Pete may have done this for a market watch

Just read through it. Not interested in cards at this level, but what do you all think? My first thought is that it would be easy to buy a fake set and spout a load of crap about them being locked in a safe since '1977' ...but then she's posting pictures of herself with the cards :| Can't get much more incriminating if they are fake :?

I think they were stolen at some point (by her brothers). A school of red herrings in her story. Story about putting them in a safe in 1977 is a load of rubbish, 12 backs have been valuable for a few years now so why wait and sell them now after all these years? What's the point of having other cheap Star wars stuff in the photo alongside the 12 backs? No need to do that if she was genuine. I believe she mentions a death in her family, a classic sob story tactic. Don't like the look of her too!
Dodgy.

Yes. An interesting story. I contacted her as I wanted to get some background on her story, see if she fancied a skype interview and sent her some pointers on getting the collection properly valued and protected plus if she didnt have the money up front to pay for seperating them, there are options.

Shes got a fully engaged facebook page (not a deber where only Richard has befriended her..) which to set that up if she was a fake would have been an enormous amount of work and doesn't appear to be the star chav she came across on RS.

I've no idea if her story is genuine, but if you had something you knew was worth a lot of money (i.e she saw toyhunter pay $12k for a set) you would likely want to flog it and not give a **** about people who cared for the items.

There are some major holes in her story which appear too fantastical to be true, but thats why I wanted to interview her and see what the story really was. If it was good it would be interesting to listen to, if not then it ends up in the bin..

edit: it appears that she has sold them, no longer on ebay but there is an image link

She got £6.4k for the 13 in the end which is a decent price for everyone I think. If the new buyer sends them for grading and gets afew of them as AFA85s then he's got a very good price.
