Kids go back to school on Tuesday. Older lad is starting his new secondary school in Leyland and it's frigging burned down this afternoon! Apparently some little turds set fire to it.

To make things much much worse his grandfather, my wife's stepdad, died today! What a terrible day!

Major bummer

**** - sorry to hear that mate

How badly was the school damaged - are they going to be able to get something sorted for this term or do the kids hae to go to other schools ?

Mate, that's double crap.
Best wishes to the family. Hopefully the school situation can be remedied quickly.

Cheers guys

It's a bummer of a day and that's for sure. My attitude is to just crack on but the kids are affected by it worst of all.

No idea with the school. What do you do with 800 kids and no school to go to :? Never seen anything like it. Not round our way anyhow.

Really, really weird day

Bad news Barry, really sorry to hear that mate.
My condolences mate, sometimes you just can't put reason to things that happen, but these are the times where family and support come in and we take stock of the things we can be thankful for, onwards and upwards bud,

Hope things turn around

Mike :D

On Sky News, fire certainly looks bad.
Several arrests made, not that that helps much.
Time for the town and council to rally around.
Best of luck.

Just seen the news regarding the school fire. Even though they have the little ****ers that did it, it won't ease the distress for the all the families involved. :(

Sorry to hear this Barry. Usually when stuff like this happens the kids are sent to Council buildings and taught in Professional Development Centres and training buildings. They'll bring portacabins and stuff in for the school as a short term measure.
However, as has been said buildings can be rebuilt.

The next piece of ****ed up news is that they are looking at demolishing the school! New kids might be going to their second choice for year 7.

And then the next piece of even more ****ed up news is that the funeral is on our wedding anniversary ...in the church we got married in! That can't really be helped but its just sods law.

Condolences to you and your family on the sad loss.

God awful timing with the funeral date. You just gotta try and separate the two sets of memories. Keep the happy ones (assuming getting married is a "happy " event) and forget the sad ones.

Congrats to your son on his school burning down. If i'd a quid for every time i'd wished mine would burn down......

lol  I wish mine had burned down. It was **** hole anyway. Kids these days seem to like school better than we did back in the 70's/80's. Weird!

The biggest problem we face now is the pisser of trying to make arrangements that you never planned for
