The LEGO Corner

I can't see why some of them go for so much as there's always several of them on eBay at a time.

I resent paying way over the original price!

Heres a couple of the sets Ive been building to sell for the family I'm helping. Thought you might like a look at them. I have to say the Jabba Set is brilliant. Really enjoyed building it (had to find the pieces throughout all the boxes and ordered in some replacements)

The Y Wing is an enormous ship, and was a real ass pain to build as I had to find every single piece as I built it as the instructions dont have an inventory. Real beautiful thing.. worth a bloody fortune as its quite rare. Ebay soon for these two...

That Y-Wing is great, looks so technical to build and displays really well.

Bit more contemporary but here is the official lego catalogue for the first quater next year, some lovely first up images, especially of the super hero sets - http://catalogs.lego.com/BrandCatalog/de_de/1HY2015/

ok, so i went into the brighton store yesterday for a mooch. I'm after the at at and was thinking about getting one. then i noticed the completed slave 1 in the cabinet. Now I have a £169 sized problem come the 1st!!!

Cleared it with the mrs, so guess what i will be doing over the weekend!

Also mcdonalds are bringing back the filthy mcrib for a month, so friday will consist of a trip to town followed by a trip to maccy ds!

Well, Slave 1 has been ordered, but it will be next month before Lego can ship such is the demand for this one, sold out online and in stores across Europe... Popular or what.

Got mine on release day ;)

It is an immense set. Best looking bit of sw Lego to come out in recent years imo.

I will try to get my arse in gear and put some pictures up this weekend.

Lego toy fair news is leaking out now. Bricklink should have reports up by lunch tomorrow but here are a few bits.

No news on the EPVII sets but we now know the upcoming Shuttle and Final Dual EPVI sets are bigger than we thought. The former comes with Endor strike Crew and a new Chewbacca and the latter and full Death Star scene, both around £80 though.

On the superhero front a few spiderMan focused Marvel sets and one Ant Man set but the nice news is on the DC side, a new Jokerland theme park set that reads nicely, again £90 but a few new figures including some teen titans. And a smaller batman, robin and Deathstroke set - cool. Also this year advent Calander had a special santa / reindeer C3PO/R2 thing going on.

The descriptions of the Jurassic World sets are cool, but the prices are through the roof, even for licenced sets.

Interesting to see Scooby Doo lego coming soon.

Here's a copy and paste from the Brickfanatics write up for a few things, loads more to read over there though - http://brickfanatics.co.uk/london-toy-fair-2015-report/

Obviously I'll be heading back to the store to complain and definitely not to buy the snowspeeder microfighter I spotted as well.

Awesome...

First Micro fighter set I have the urge to get and anything that comes with four stormies is good in my book.

Thanks for posting :D

These sound like cool sets. How long roughly till decent pictures are available and they're available?

Hey, what was this event? Is it every year? When and where is the next one? Can anyone go? etc ;)

Pete.

London Toy Fair is at Olympia and technically you need to be a retail buyer to get in; its not a consumer fair.
Getting onto LEGO stand (and Hasbro and a couple of others) is limited to existing account holders only and at set times they agree to meet with their/your account manager.
I went this year in my role as retail buying manger, despite wanting to do business (bespoke product ideally) and despite having 108 shops across the UK, I couldn't get on the LEGO stand this year due to not having set up a trading account with them... yet
I'm pretty sure Dave Tree got on there though, presume he already sells LEGO.

New York Toy Fair (same rules and regs as above) has just taken place too... not sure which of the two this news is coming from

There you go Pete, got your answer, Olympia not Excel :)

The news out of New York is great, these links make for good reading :
