The LEGO Corner

Not Star Wars, but the new UCM Tumbler went on sale today for VIP members at lego stores and numbers are limited. Got mine from Stratford and they only have 18 in store with most other stores equally low. It looks great, going to be a while before I actually get to build it but going to be awsome when I do.

Now we just need the slave 1 details and that will be all the ultimate collectors sets for the year released :)

Images of the new UCS Slave 1 are out and about now - http://brickset.com/article/12209/75060-ucs-slave-i-pictures-revealed

Oh man does this look a great model. Some people are a bit grumbly about the figure choice but frankly I think the four figures are spot on for the scene where they load Han aboard.

I will have to hold of day 1 but this is top of the Christmas wish list :)

Hi guys awesome collections :)

Just something about the lego figures make me smile

I have a small collection im selling just some items I opened up and built once, displayed some figures in my star wars room and put them back in box's if anyone is interested

here is a link to the thread

Thanks

Right, looking for lego for Christmas

May go for the new sandcrawler

But has anyone bought the new sail barge? It doesn't seem to look as good as the previous one. Not sure which to go for

Sand crawler!

Big surprise but I can offer an opinion on almost all the current SW sets as I have them :D

The Sandcrawler is truly fantastic, the scale and complexity really is from a galaxy far far away, can't recomend it enough.

The sail barge is a good model and one you can get for about 30% off on Amazon most weeks so for that price is great. The figures are Stella and the barge itself is good, better that the original in my opinion, I posted pictures of it somewhere on this thread.

The new star destroyer is great, odd scale but such a lovely ship. Likewise the Bwing and cantina are great little models, much more detail there than you imagine.

If you want a little fun the SW Rebels sets, the phantom and the ghost are brilliant and link together, but not OT.

Away from SW then th Tumbler really is stinking but if you love big bad ships then hold off 10 day. 1st Jan will see the new UCS Slave 1 released and it is a work of art...

Edit - the guardians of the Galaxy sets are fantastic as well and the x-men jet set is lovely, should have mentioned the, before. Actually the more I think the more great stuff there is right now, the ghost busters car is great and a couple of movie sets, The Sea Cow and Bennies classic space ship and so much fun.

Actually just go to westfield and move into the store there.... That's what I plan on doing.

Luckily westfields is just down the road in Stratford!

My theme for this Christmas is Tatooine so have been looking at

Cantina
Palace
Rancor
Skiff
Sail barge
Escape Pod
Sandcrawler

I know I'm going to have to pay big for the Sancrawler, but would be good to get the others as cheap as possible if I decide to go for them all, even it it's just the lego and no box.

^ cracking
That is a lovely bunch of sets, I would say if you are up for a little customisation buy 2 of the Rancor pit and use the extra bits to make the structure the same footprint as the palace that sits on top of it, worth the effort and gives a more satisfying finish.

But I would say grab those sets now as you won't get another chance. Conventional wisdom and popular opinion is that we are about to see the end of mainstream system original trilogy sets, everything will be rebels or episode 7+ from now with the UCS being more OT focused, no. Omplaints com ME, the first wave of rebels sets look great.

Envy you this Christmas with that bundle to build, fantastic. Need pictures when you are done.

Well, I've picked up the cantina so far.

Should be able to get the Sail Barge around £70 on Amazon

Are there any ways of getting these cheaper? I'd settle for second hand/no box

I'm also becoming a little tempted by the winter stuff as well. 8)

^ not too many cheep lego outlets these days. Ebay is an obvious route but not one I would recomend. Sometimes people sell on Brickset and that is ok. But on the whole Amazon is the best for discounts.

By winter stuff do you mean the winter village sets? If so slippery slide :D the sets are great but the ones from a few years back are only available on the after market and cost a small fortune now, and a couple of sets can only be bought in October and November each year as free gifts for certain spend in store, this month is is the elf hut that goes with Santas workshop, next month is is some sort of ice rink, but I can safely say they are worth the effort, perfect festive display and mix in a few of the SW calendar bits and it is great.

The main sets are these http://brickset.com/sets/theme-Advanced-Models/subtheme-Winter-Village

Good job your theme isn't Bespin as there is **** all out there in Lego for anything Cloud City related.

I've got the jabbas barge set, see my previous posts in this set. No box.

Thought I would post some pics lads, not really got any new sets to post but...

...my son is well into Vintage space Lego at the moment, he has some small sets and figures but wanted a big set. Not wanting to fork out for the set I had as a kid we set out to make some vintage style pieces. A big ship, a base, an explorer and a rocket. He likes the Lego Corner and asked if we could post our team effort for the members of SWFUK, so here we go...

Junior Chubb and J'r Juniors homage to vintage Space Lego...
