I agree to let it stay like it is. Part of the charm and we've got Weasel to clean everything up. 8)

I actually voted for number 4. I haven't been a member very long and I don't know many people here yet but I know that if I wanted to buy something from someone then I'd want to know that they were genuine and not someone who signed up that very day to con me out of my money. I think that if I can be sure the person selling is well known on the forum and respected for their posts then I'd want to buy from them.

That's just my opinion though. If it did stay as it is then it wouldn't be hard for me just to avoid dodgey looking posters I guess (though I haven't seen any yet!) ;)

It's a shame but just because someone has been posting here for a while, its no guarantee they won't con someone down the line - its happened before

Unfortunately somewhere down the line someone is going to get conned either by a regular poster or a relative newcomer. I think if we are all relatively cautious in our dealings and deal with issues swiftly and fairly as a group when problems do arise then we will be fine. There is no perfect system that I can see when it comes to things like this. Whether it be face to face in a shop or at a toy fair, or VIA internet auction sites or forums. There will always be an element of trust involved. It will always be like this as far as I can see.

If anyone is considering a deal/trade with a member on here I don't see there being a problem if they a drop a PM to any of the long standing members or regular posters just saying "I'm doing a deal with*insert name* and am just checking he is legit" it'll take 30 seconds to reply and 99 times our of a 100 it'll be a formality.

Yeah good point, there are still scumbags who use their reputation to screw people over.

I think common sense plays a major part in ANY sale.

I think having a certain number of posts (20 for example) is fair enough! I think you should at least show a bit of commitment to the community if you want the privilege of posting your FS items. But even regular users should be moderated to add sufficient details on the items they are selling. Just posting links to other sites should not be allowed. Just my 2p :)
