Up until tonight I had been struggling a little with what I wanted to see happen as a result of this new movie. I've been involved in the Vintage hobby for so long now that the movie announcement/Disney take over followed by the price increases we've seen kind of took me by surprise and I'll be honest, it's been a worrying time for me as a collector..
I'm not sure about other people on the forum but I'm the first to admit that since I started collecting I've become much more involved and interested in the toys rather than the movies (I can't even remember the last time I sat through one of the original three films let alone all three) which has skewed my perspective of all things Star Wars in a way.
Ultimately though, if it wasn't for the films none of us would be here in the first place and we all know that we've not really not had a good Star Wars movie since ROTJ was released back in '83 so there is no denying that the fans need one and so does the franchise.
Even so, I still didn't know if I wanted to accept the prospect of the force awakens turning out to be the best thing to happen to Star Wars in a long time if it also meant saying goodbye to collecting as I knew it (more fans, higher prices, blah blah blah)..
Having seen the second teaser trailer tonight however, here are my thoughts...
Seriously, these new guys and millionaire collectors can have all the toys they want - I don't want them any more! All I want to do is watch this movie a million times a day and run around the front room with an x-wing
