The 'Float Test" repros

Combine the float test with the drop test. Most repros bounce more and make a ping noise rather than a thud. That's as good a description as I can do in words  When all else fails just take a picture and someone here will help :)

originals weapon/accessories that don't pass float test and sink are:-

YODA'S Snake (all variations)
YODA'S Cane (all variations)
LOGRAY Staff
TEEBO Axe
GAMORREAN GUARD Axe (all variations)
AMANAMAN Staff
LUKE FARMBOY, BEN KENOBI, DARTH VADER (some versions don't float)

All the other weapons and variations should float :) but better fakes keep popping up all the time that may actually float i can only guarantee which originals definitely sink. :(

The float test unfortunately can't be applied to all weapons from the Kenner line and even less when talking about foreign variations.

The best bet would be a combination of the drop/float test like James said AND still cross checking reference pictures.

It is not fool proof even though it is an old method.
