Will be interesting to hear of others here who notice that the business they work in is doing better than expected. Aren't there already reports that the UK economy as a whole is beating forecasts?

The company I work for is about to announce that we haven't hit our targets, and nobody will be getting bonuses. One of our digital brands which has grown every year for the last 15+ years is making a loss for the first time ever.

I'm sorry as a civil servant I haven't had a real terms payrise for 6 years, so Brexit is just the tip of the iceberg. All these problems started 8 years ago when the bankers decided they'd overplay their poker hands!

I'm a Civil Servant too. Brexit is just another reason to continue with austerity. It's very painful. In the press they are quick to point out the 0.01% of civil service high earners and never focus on the 99.9% who are paid normally or below market rate.

I agree that SW figure trading is a hobby and is certainly a luxury, but being objective how close are we as people to having no hobbies, no "luxury"? At which point it becomes a game of pure survival. Which it already is for far too many.

This hobby saves my sanity, it does not make me rich but it helps make me feel less poor !

Well put. Luxury or not it affects me and most others here. And like you say, Lee (and I'm paraphrasing here), when you do away with luxury and just work to earn money to by what's necessary to exist then something's gone a little bit tits up.

My mate has and apparantly they are selling up, just wondering if you knew how far along they were.

No idea. To be honest I don't have much interest in the politics of the trade. There are plenty that live for that. I do my bit for the trade in other ways. I also smile at every customer, dress smart casual, always have a clean cab, never refuse a fare, and accept multiply payment options :D

Sound almost the same as him, except he has been known the refuse fares now and again.
