Test of the Palitoy waters now...

I personely believe the seller knows exactly what he is up too, there is heavy shilling on other past sold items, nothing of wich is star wars, what he has not banked on is the hard core collectors who know there onions on this ****, and as for coming on here, well it's obvious he has no shame coming on here is a piece of piss to a seller like that, as we would say the brass neck :D still if he's smart he will offer them up on here and wide berth the fees on ebay :D

I suspected the seller would have shill bidding on his non star wars items. Can you let me know what items you have found? He has reported me to ebay
for accusing him of shill bidding, and I need to report his shill bidding activity to ebay to clear my name now.

cheers Jason

Check out the item that sold for £537 it had a ebayer 16 low feedback driven some poor buyer right up, and that dude had a verryverry high bid rate withheld seller its not what he has won its what the prices they have driven up, makes me angry, this seller is a cheeky ****er reporting you, a proper clown this ****er is.

Spoke to ebay, have no black marks on my account for contacting the seller regarding shill bidding, though I should have contacted ebay rather than the seller.
Ebay are going to look to see if there is evidence of shill bidding on his past auctions. The say the recent sellers that have driven up the price of the palitoy
auctions are not based in the sellers location, which backs up his story of it being a 3rd party driving up the prices.

The dsc is up to £79 now, so I'm out.

Good luck if anyone intends to get involved as this point.

Seller seems pretty volatile imo.

cheers Jason

Faffing about with this thread and these sales meant I missed out on a nice Clipper die-cast Tie Fighter!

What were you after the DSC for Jason? To reseal or a run of opened cards?

In all fairness,if i had the free dosh i would have offered £5000 for all these cards. When you think about it,you could have a nifty full 12/20 back reseal collection without spending that amount alone on a sealed moc Chewie.I know that some were after certain pieces, but this could well be a person wanting that instant collection. There is no proof whatsoever of shilling, and i agree with the points Stefan made.Ok,they were not immaculate cards, some with terrible curving etc but that could have been sorted.A majority were cut bubble examples, and in VGC.

We have to remember that anything Palitoy logo,d has gone crazy over the past year or so,with some cards reaching incredible prices. If i were the seller i would have sold in one lot.

That's a good point about a full resealed set of first 20 vs a sealed original chewie.

Some mint loose figures, some double sided tape, you can see the attraction.

what a crazy thread. I'm not convinced house clearance has been shill bidding. i do think somebody has ****ed with his auction though. I'm always a little suspicious when I'm given a second chance offer and very rarely take it. recently i lost an auction when someone went mental on two rareish carded ep1 figures (yes.. they exist). my offer was still good value and its the first time I've taken it.. but i was more than a little suss

Well where were all the Palitoy collectors for a cardback and bubble for a R5-D4 that finished today at £39.99!!

The previous one (and part of the collection that was the main discussion for this thread) was in worse condition went for £160.59.

I don't get it :?

That really confirms some serious shill bidding on the other bunch.

It'll be interesting to see where the Stormtrooper and Sand People end up at and it is strange that the R5 ended for so little compared to last weeks one. That's more the price I thought things should be going for (after all there were no figures with any of them), and is closer in line with the recent sale prices of these types of things. Who knows though, maybe the chance to pick up such a complete set in one swoop was too much temptation to let pass by.

One last thing I noticed is the the second DSC (A back), ended up going to the same buyer who bought the first 9 12 backs last week. It's still strange to me that this original winner never bided on the other 3 12 backs that finished the day after the first 9.

It's mad. I'm priced out of the Palitoy market!

I'm not so sure, the R5 20 back that sold the week after only went for 40 compared to the one the week before at 160 -

Really not sure what happened but maybe it was the chance to scooped up a full set of the first 30 + that made the prices so high. The one other thing I've noticed is that there's still no feedback from the two sellers who bought them yet.

I presume you mean 2 buyers who bought them

Check sellers feedback left for others, one of the buyers came and the picked the stuff up from the seller

Yes two buyers was what I meant, oops :?

I didn't realise that the buyer picked them up, probably the large haul I'm guessing. Well It looks like there really was no shill bidding after all and someone just wanted to bag a large set in one go. Still a bit strange the first winner didn't bid on any of the rest (until the second DSC came up for sale), and that the second winner didn't bid on the first 9, very odd.

I can't believe I missed this entire thread!

Still no feedback on the guys profile for these cards.

There is on the diecast Landspeeder though!

I noticed that as well but thought that maybe it might have even been someone on here so they're keeping quite. Also it seems like a lot of people don't seem to have the time to give feedback so it could be as simple as that. Maybe we'll even get to see the set on here at some point.

I was still holding out some hope that a second chance offer might come up on a few I went for but it doesn't look that way now. At least I know I ended pushing the prices up on a few of them so at least nothing went cheap.

By the way, does anyone have mint figures with original weapons for the first 30 released.........footers would be good as well?

Ian
