Well here we go

Episode Three - Trifecta of the SWFUK Podcast is now launched

You can download it on iTunes

Just type in SWFUK in the store and subscribe to the podcast

Alternatively you can listen to it also at

Swfukpodcast.podbean.com

Episode three is a blast of an episode which we had a terrific time recording. We have a cracking forum interview with three pack expert Chris Caswell (caswellbot). We also hear from Gary Mancini and Wayne Streak in the final part of the Farthest From interviews and we get to chat to Matt McCartney (Monkey_roo) about his latest book release. We have all the usual sections like the Forum Roundup, Latest Acquistions and market with Richard chatting about the latest Boom story. Grant looks into the UK Marvel comics in his oddballs sections. Plenty to get your teeth into!

WIN A DEWBACK BOX!

This months competition is to win a Dewback Box, all you need to do is go onto Facebook and like the SWFUK Podcast page for your chance to win. Make sure you get this done quickly as the winner will be pulled out at this weekends Farthest From show.

Hopefully all the podcast team hopes to see as many of you as possible at Farthest From this weekend, the whole weekend should be top notch (and if you see Ben please don't mention David Prowse as it's a very tetchy subject that upsets the wee lad)

ENJOY THE SHOW!!!

Ewok lovers should hang on to the post-podcast recording. Gives a great behind the scenes insight.

Brilliant, I just pointed a load of 'normals' to the podcast so they could listen to my dulcet tones and I am not sure what was funnier, some of the podcast content or the expression on my freinds faces as they listened to bits of it :)

Nice show again guys.

Regarding the Marvel comics distribution question. We got them in Glasgow in what seemed like every other newsagent, even the small one I could get to without crossing a road.

I did have to rely on ordering it from the newsagent toward the end of the ROTJ era but this is due to nobody giving a monkeys except me. Oh, and my best mate in adulthood who had not one but two drawings published in the Star Drawings section in the latter issues. They ignored my submissions. Bloody philistines.

Thank you kind sir

I think the comics were probably distributed the same in the north, perhaps just not in Richards area due to the lack of people who can actually read :D

Have you ever gone back and look at your friends pics? You should put his name up and see of Grant or Pete can find the pictures and put them up.

The revelation of my mate's art background came out in the 1990s. At that time I had piles of the stuff so we dug them out then, I've since lost most of the issues and bought some back and have digital copies of others but not those ones.

I just checked - one of them was definitely issue 88 ( I remember the Luke vs (Larry) Flint cover ) and the other was within a few weeks of that one. His name is John Findon, and his drawings weren't as good as mine...

Another cracker of a show. I hope everyone didn't stop the podcast once the end music was playing as hearing you lot trying to sing the Ewok ritual and translating it had right at the end had me in stitches.

Can I just so that I played no part in that and I would have kicked Pete out of the recording if I was hosting this one. I had to endure many painful minutes of it. Even more so than usual.

Another great Podcast guys.
I love that fact that even a technophobe like me has this all wrapped up.

Stage 1, Downloaded a simple free podcast app to my phone.
Stage 2, Search for SWFUK Podcast, took all of about 2 seconds.
Stage 3, Clicked "Subscribe".
Stage 4, Listen to every episode as it automatically downloads them as soon as released.

Case in point, i woke up the other morning and my phone told me that i had a new podcast. I bloody love technology.

The 3 Pack advert parody near the end made me jump out of my skin in the car this afternoon.
Keep up the excellent work lads.
The gaffer, the Taff, the Horsef##ker, the Hobbit and the Perv, you guys are the Power of The Force 5!!

I'm now commuting for 2.5 hrs a day, so i'm downloading other podcasts. I began listening to The Forcecast after yours finished. Maybe i'm biased (ok i'm definitely biased), but i just haven't got into it yet. Great use of sound bites at the beginning, which sounded really really professional but it just didn't flow like yours. Your banter compliments the forum extremely well. I have yet to hear any Forcecast banter, but i've only been listening for about 40 minutes.

Oh and no update for Jizwatch

If you're new to podcasting, there's a few more fun ones than Forcecast.

You might like Galaxy Of Toys too. It's a bit 'year zero' compared to this one in that they don't go on at great length about Helix pencil sharpeners, which is to its detriment. I like it despite that.

Forcecast's previous hosts do their own podcast now - Rebel Force Radio - which is a little more fun. If, like me, you don't read all the websites its a reasonable place to get the news in audio.

Oh, and they do an AMAZING spin-off podcast called 'Star Wars Oxygen' which is co-hosted by a musicologist and SW fan who dissects the OT Williams scores to the point that even a soundtrack nut like me has new things pointed out that I'll never unhear now.

Other ones I catch are the Chivecast and Star Wars In Character where they take the piss out of absurd side-character back-stories.

The friggin hobbit. It may surprise you all to know I am:

A) Not the shortest podcaster
B) Not the hairiest podcaster
C) Not the Most rotund podcaster
D) Not the one podcaster that lives in a county that finishes "Shire" (Bonus points who can tell me which one is)
E) I have the most sensible and legible accent and command of the common tongue

Incidentally, Richard does not like the term Horsef***er. He makes sweet sweet love to the ones that don't consume his collection.

a) The difference between 4" 6' and 4" 7' is minimal. And to be fair we only found out about Stu recently who'd been keeping very quiet about it
b) hence bald hobbit
c) Again - it was only when Pete ordered a 57X T-shirt we realised this
d) I thought you lived in bolloxshire
e) yeah but you only say "I don't know the answer to that one."

Half way through - the thing that really stands out about these podcasts is the quality of the interviews. Particularly Jez last month and Chris this month who were both really engaging and clearly dedicated to their fields.
