Hi Ove

Quite a story behind the Meccano R5. To answer your question yes, but the deal was done away from ebay and I got it by the skin of my teeth due to quite a few others after it. The seller was actually a well respected member on RS who decided to sell to me.

I think it might be the only graded square carded R5 Meccano in the world. I know of at least another ungraded one, but as I'm sure you know R5 D4 is the rarest Meccano on a La Guerre Des Etoiles square card, it was unknown for many years that it even existed due to no examples surfacing. Images were always of the first 12 along with the four cantina aliens, Power Droid, Death Star Droid and Luke X-Wing.

Amazing collection there. Love those UHU packs, never even seen one of those for sale and you have 3!

A lot of love for Ewoks all of a sudden

I'm told that all the Ewoks are available on UHU cards, although never ever seen Wicket, no image on the internet either so I'm not 100% sure on him.

Teebo is by far the easiest to get, but when I say easy - one may come up once a year. The rest are really really hard to find at all.

Amazing collection Paul. You need to keep your collection and keep expanding with goodies!!

Really glad it ended up in such good hands! I was sure it was mr Grunberg or someone who snatched it;-) And in such good condition too. it is really unheard of when it comes to 20 backs.

I have a kept some record of R5 and the Luke x wing. I've tried getting one of them, but it is very close to impossible.

This one was in the paris exhibition last year, and from the bigger pic I have it looks like it is the same one as in Stephane's book.
http://collection-starwars.com/rubrique-vador67-1622.html#57099 and we have arnauds amazing collection that has one. It might be a part reseal as there is some strange thing going on at the R5's head. And I know of one more in a french collection which is quite secretive. So in my book, no more than 3-4 sealed examples, and yours must be the one in best condition out there!

Luke x wing is interesting. All the ones I've seen have actually be sliced bubble (1) or reseal (2). There is one more moc though, that I have not confirmed if it is sealed or not.

Thanks for this info Ove interesting to know. Where you aware a certain forum member on here as a Meccano Luke X-Wing MOC :?: Is that the one your not sure of or is there another :?:

Re R5 - the other one I knew about was arnauds. His collection is amazing. The problem with a lot of these Meccano's is how fragile they are especially the bubbles - brittle and thin. The guy who sold me R5 was terrified the bubble (which is a really large strange shape) would damage in transit, so packaged it within an inch of it's life!! Luckily it arrived in one piece :D.

Such a great collection as the others have said. It's really nice to see such variety in the cardbacks you have from around world.

Stunning :D

Well spotted Lars

The master Bedroom where I'm living at the moment is pretty big so yes the last thing at night I see is my collection and the first thing in the morning too :)

The wife doesn't have a say, we separated 8 years ago (still on good terms though) she just rolls her eyes whenever she makes an occasional visit

Wow! Pretty amazing collection. So many carded figures and rarities, great to see. I really like the way it's displayed as well with all the glass. Nice point of reference for someone like me, thanks for posting.

Thanks Jez, yes the Han vs Greedo has a little background info to it
Or
Frank (Frunkstar) vs Stephen (Mumbo)

Frank sold me a pin head loose Han Solo as I never had one as a kid.
I was one of the winners in a competition Stephen did last year and to my surprise and delight he sent me one of my top 5 favourite figures - Greedo!

So everytime I look at them I see Frank and Stephen having a shoot out
