Seemed so random and flimsy, hope Filony or whatshisname is won't just pump out episodes just to show his love for the OT and the toys,

Fingers crossed it improves, the animated Clone Wars movie was a bad start, but the series picked up quite quickly.

Watched the first three episodes yesterday
I did enjoy it and I'm sure kids will love it more

I just wonder why they chose to put Alladin in a Star Wars series?

I've really enjoyed the first three episodes, tonaly it seems a lot closer to the original trilogy, great score, stunning animation and a few nice nods (loved seeing the imperial troop transport and a palace blaster!).
Hopefully see a few cameos from the vintage action figure line.

I've only watched the DVD release so far and thought it was great. I don't think I am a great critic on anything star wars that is new though. I just injoy anything new to do with Star Wars.

4 episodes on and I'm starting to struggle :?

So is EVERY episode going to have the same team of 4 in it, with the same story of the young lad just getting away by the skin of his teeth aaagggaaaiiinnnn.

Bored. This show needs to go somewhere soon. Seems to me Clone Wars was better.

Give it a while to find its feet.

There are already hints at backstory and so forth. The early clone wars stories were no better. They followed the e same core group dodging and running near misses with the driod army and every so often you still got all of Lucas' space politics thown in.

I am sure that we will get into the origins of the rebel alliance, we will see some OT characters making apperences and we will explore the history of the core characters and how their past impacts their current situation. That all takes time to set up, also remember the core audience is not us old guys, rather the 8+ crowd (or 3+ in my sons case).

Meanwhile, you goto love the score and the retro mcquarrie designs. For a disney cartoon this is good quality stuff.

the episode and feature items like the troop transport ;)

In my eyes 10x better then the Clone Wars which was milked to hell, in the end I gave you on TCW as it just got too boring.

I appreciate that Rebels is made for kids but so was The Clone Wars. I LOVED the animation in the Clone Wars and felt that the stories were mostly strong, at least strong enough to have me wanting to watch the next episode to find out what happens next.

I'm FORGIVING the animation on this as it has Ralph influences and vintage toys etc etc, but I have seen so much better on alot of other cartoons.

However, right now, I can't forgive the story telling. This is an age when the Jedi are all but wiped out and in hiding right? So what the hell are they jumping around the galaxy winding imperials up for. And why the hell is he teaching the boy the ways of the force, and in doing so putting him unbelievable peril? This stuff isnt touched upon. Its just "we need to this, oh no the kids in trouble!, phew that was close, lets go"

And repeat...for four epsiodes so far...boring lazy writing

Each to there own. My guess is using Jedi's is part of the hook for the kids, it just isn't Star Wars without them, likewise some big bad Sith types, which leads to this weeks episode. I beleive we meet the serise main bad guy this week and maybe we start in on bigger arcs from here.

I do agree the idea of a jedi being so open is an oddity, but then again Dark Horse did exactly that with their Dark Times serise so it isn't unheard off. Besides if any Jedi survived Order 66 then surely they would be out fighting the good fight, it's who they are.

I'm leaning towards Fuzzies view on this...

I will stick with it but he is spot on, poor animation, all feels the same from week to week, its is just sparse and overly simplistic compare to what high end kids CGI series can offer and Disney is not supposed to be 'run of the mill'.

Some of the action scenes have improved, but it has along way to go, visually and script wise.

Really enjoying it so far, thought i was going to hate chopper as not a fan of droids but hes a right **** and funny

So is the new show worth watching? I watched a couple of seasons of the clones but I thought the trailers shown for Rebels looked a bit too cheesey

Don't expect it to be the same standard as the Clone Wars and you might not be disappointed...

Otherwise be ready for the cheese-fest you expected.

hmm... I'm not sure, if its anywhere near as bad as the trailer "wait.. you did all this for fruit?!" I'm not sure I could stomach the cringe levels but if that's the worst of it and its not continuous then it might be worth watching
