I think most of us are probably aware that George Lucas used old Doctor Who costumes (Bossk and the Cantina pilot) in Star Wars, but I'd never really given it much more thought than that

I watched the 'the tenth planet' today and couldn't believe how little was changed - the episode is from 1966 so those costumes hung around a long time too

Just thought I'd share :)

Those aren't costumes from Doctor Who they are RAF High Altitude Pressure suits and they are almost unmodified. They are also used in First Men on the Moon (1964) as spacesuits as well. So all the filmmakers just borrowed real life props.

I didn't know that they real suits, but there is a quote from one of the 'making of' books about using old Dr Who costumes for those characters.

I'll try and dig it out

Good link Carl

Be a great piece to pick up, bet they fetch a bit now
I believe there is one in the national space centre, hopefully be over there later in the year to have a look. And yes, I dare say they're a pretty penny between space collectors, Who fans and SW nutters
