We all know Star Wars and Christmas are the perfect match. The release schedule of the new Star Wars movies have been a testament to that.

So I was wondering what are everyone's best memories of Star Wars at Christmas.

Mine was the toy blow out I received for Xmas '83 which included:

Jabba the Hutt
AT-ST
A speeder bike
Gammorean Guard
Luke Jedi
Leia Boussh
Lando Skiff
Ree-Yees
Squidhead
Bib
Zuckuss
4-Lom
Biker Scout
Rebel Soldier
Admiral Ackbar.

Never been so happy in life, I don't remember much from when I was 4, but I remember tearing those figures of the card in about 30 seconds flat. my mum still goes on about how she had to traipse around many shops looking for a gam guard. She doesn't believe me when I tell her its not a rare figure.

Mine would have been around the same time, 1983, I was 10 and at the zenith of my Star Wars interest as a child.

Mum took me to John Menzies in Newcastle-under-Lyme, their toy dept. was the best in the town and situated upstairs. All the Star Wars stuff was the first thing you saw as you walked in. Racks and racks of figures.

I was told I could pick something for my present that year and I picked Jabba The Hutt and a Luke Jedi Knight outfit, pretty sure I picked Klaatu as well.

I remember to this day finally being able to open them up on xmas morning. I also had the AST-5 that year.

Great memories.

Christmas 97:

X-wing
Tie fighter
Millennium Falcon
SW Special Edition
Luke Skywalker figure
Couple of T-shirts

My most vivid memories of Star Wars are Christmas 83' as well mate. Prob because it is the most recent one and I was 8 so I can totally remember it. Also the film had come out that year so the hype was at maximum. I got a lot of Star Wars toys that Christmas too. Defo got a Scout Walker, Speeder bike and X-Wing. Think I got an Ewok catapult, maybe some other mini rigs and about half a dozen figures. It was a good one, great memories. My Mum has a photo of me in my smart shirt and chinos proudly holding my new ROTJ annual :)

Star Wars and Christmas go together like turkey and stuffing for me :)

Here is the proof, me with Palitoy goodness, in 81 and 82 :D

xmas 81 / 82 / 83 falcon /atat / x wing /dv tie ,jabba etc and figs as we have mentioned before these were not cheap at the time , ref the old argos pages at the time so thanks mum and dad / for the memories :) before that may have been 79 the infamous inflatable light saber top toy lasted a year before it burst :)

Christmas 85' for me got an AT-AT, great memories.

Love those photos, what is it about the wrapping paper back then. So much better.

Every Christmas from 1980 to 1985 was a Star Wars Christmas, with the ATAT in 1982 being the height of it.

I'll offer a non-toy memory, though. For Christmas 85 my folks but us a VCR. Within seconds of clapping eyes on it, I thought 'Star Wars is on STV next week. I'll own Star Wars on video'. The Making Of A Saga was repeated too. That ended up making one hell of an E180.

we got a video around 1980 radio rental rented as they were so expensive in the day, Ferguson video star, we got a dodgy copy of star wars all the kids in the street could not believe you could see star wars in your front room any time you wanted it was like some kind of voodoo magic back then :D

Not sure if it was 83 or 84 but i got from Santa a Han trench coat, Lando bespin and Leia Hoth figures. Speeder bike too and a few days later while staying at my grandparents, naturally a biker scout figure from Woolworths for my speeder bike. I remember vividly choosing between the At-st driver or the biker scout. No way i could get more than 1 figure! From my mums cousin i got Vader, C3po and Artoo figures. Still have most but Han, 3PO and Artoo have long since disappeared. While staying at my grandparents we watched Star Wars on ITV although they weren't too happy that they missed One man and his dog..
My last ever figure i had was Ree-Yees late in the run in Xmas 88 which was a shock as i thought they had long since stopped selling SW toys. That king of rekindled my buzz for SW after years of He-man and MASK buying. Anyone else here see or buy SW toys in the shops in the late 1980's?

You lucky .....

Christmas 78 opening the polity Deathstar, now that really was a well loved present that I played with until it ripped apart (and then was glued and ripped again, and then taped and ripped again at which point I think I gave up!).

Very happy young boy :D

Falcon one year, probably '82. Got the Troop tansporter the year before.
Jabba play set and scout walker another year.
Can't recall if I got any figures with them for Christmas, just remember those vehicles.
Think I might have got some of the mini rigs as well.
Still got the lot with packaging.

Millenium Falcon was my best ever Christmas present.

I do though have nightmares that my aunt got me a trilogo Boba Fett sometime in about 86-90. Having already got Boba I was tempted not to open it and kept it moc for a couple of days, as even then I appreciated its great aesthetic quality, but then I did open it and think I gave it away to a mate/ got lost playing. More likely the latter. I can remember it being a paler colour to my original one so didn't seem as good when out of its packaging, I was moving on to Transformers at this point. Hmm maybe it's in the transformers box, will have to have a look.

It's now an item I'd love to have in my tri run and looking at the crazy prices for a moc will probably one I never get. I can't bring myself to pay 150-200 for a loose!

I think it is fantastic that some of you have pictures from christmas with vintage star wars and also remember it :D

I do not remember anything about star wars at christmas from my childhood and I do not have any pictures :(

I remember I got some star wars items, but I do not remember if it was for christmas or for my birthday :( funny that I do not remember it since I had between 50 and 60 figures when I was a kid :?

I remember I got some star wars toy when it was not christmas and when it was not my birthday, this is very strange :?

I also remember I got a darth vader as a gift, but again I do not remember if it was birthday or christmas paper that was around the moc :?
