smokey smell on figures

im not a smoker, but my dad is and most of my collection is at my dads house, tooks some bits home with me today and noticed the smokey smell on my figures. nothing too bad just a faint wiff which i expected, any advice on how to get rid of the aroma. im assuming it will go in time once most of my collection is at my house as neither me or the missus smoke.
 
If those 'magic erasers' are what I think they are then avoid! I think in the UK a 'magic sponge' is the same thing. They work a bit like polishing compound does on a car by removing a very fine layer of the top coat. Great for cleaning stubborn stains from the bath. Great for taking paint off Star Wars figures :!:
 
I put mine through the dishwasher on a 35 degree low heat. Come out spanking. Not sure would get rid of smell throw. :roll:

on side note dont tfp's have a sweet aroma? i remember a thread a while back...strawberries....ahh i cant remember
 
toothpaste or milton antibac spray worked for mine, i got a load of loose figs and they smelt so bad i was nearly sick, even the bubblewrap stank.
