Since I'm being accused of bragging..Might as well limelight

PS to answer Andy...Any collectors that I know are always welcome to come by and see my collection in person. I've hosted a few get togethers and BBQs with collectors in the area too.

Now that would be awesome, one thing ive never done as a collector is attend a get-together, i know me and stu discussed a bbq ect but its never materialised.

i need to pull my finger out :)

Might be worthwhile doing something when there is a next big toy fair going on next year, we could all meet up hit the toy fair and then errrr have a drink or two/three/four.....

Maybe a joint effort with SWCC?

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! that is such an impressive collection, would love to see it in person. Ive looked at bootlegs in the past and thought they were a bit weird but seeing them altogether in a collection like that is quite mesmorizing. I love the Uzay section, something about those cardbacks that I love but not sure what it is.

A question. If i was looking for a yoda bootleg for my side focus, what saught of £££££ would I be looking at and how hard to find/rare are they???

Thanks man, the Uzay card art is what got me started collecting bootlegs. I'm waiting for a bunch of new acrylic cases, then I'll do a proper update to my photo sets.

As for Yodas....
it depends on what kind of Yoda bootleg.... Less expensive options would include 2 of the Yoda variants from the "Mex/SA" line. One of which is static (unmovable limbs) and has both his snake and cane attached to him
on each side. I actually have one for sale on RS for $15, there is also a version of it from the same set with movable limbs, I have a carded one available for $25.
As for other Yoda bootlegs and their possible costs.... I'll make a list below. While I own them in my collection, they are not for sale.

Other Mexican Yoda bootlegs include a static one in rubber with googley eyes, that comes in 2 different colors that I've seen and I've seen sell for anywhere from $50 to $125 ea

Translucent Mexican Yodas, 3 different poses... usually sell for $25/35 ea

There are other Mexican Yodas varying from easy to somewhat harder to find than any mentioned above. Here's a pic of some from my collection:
Yodas_copy.jpg

Other countries include, the Hungarian Pig Nose Yoda:
http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=78020
which loose complete can run between $125 and $200 depending on the market at the time, and carded, only a couple known to exist.... $3000 to $5000 IF you can find one.

Polish Deluxe Yoda:(scroll about 1/2 way down page
http://theswca.com/images-speci/polishboots/deluxe.html
loose complete, expect to pay around $300 for one, in varying degrees of incompletion, anywhere from $75-100 for a naked one, to $ 175-225 for one with snake and or belt, canes are the rarer accessory for these. Baggied, with only one "known" example, IF one came up it'd likely fetch over $1500

Another cool bootleg Yoda would be the Model Trem, Lead Yoda,
http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=51417
loose no accessories, $150 or so, with all accessories loose $400-500, and boxed you could expect to pay $600+ for one.

I hope that helps give you a rough idea of what's out there for vintage Yoda bootlegs.

Cheers
Joe

I never had an bootleg fig. myself as i don't like those colourfull weird looking figures, but i must admit when looking at your collection they do look impressive.
Joe you have an amazing collection, containing some many fantastic pieces it's hard to name anything in particular... The Uzay set, those Trems, the steel molds,... just incredible.

I love your display room and those cabinets with the line up makes even those colourfull "ugly" bootlegs look fantastic to me.

Your collection is like you name it a "bootleg museum", thanks for sharing these pictures.

I am the same as you Dennis. They do nothing for me at all....well maybe the Trems do a little :p
But there is something about looking at a collection like this as a whole. Just fantastic seeing it all together I think. Really is something special.

Yeah I'm with you both on that one.

But then, if everyone collected the same things, SW collecting would be pretty fecking dull!

For those that mentioned it,I'm very glad that bootlegs aren't everyones cup of tea. Also glad that while they're not, most can appreciate them for both their roll in the global impact of SW, and just that they're fun to look at. There are many facets of SW collecting that I thoroughly enjoy looking at and learning about, that I'd never want to own, or have owned and grown bored with and sold off to buy more bootlegs. :D

To answer the question of how long I've collected bootlegs, I started collecting bootlegs here and there in the mid 90s. It started as a gradual thing, just as oddities to go along with my other non US stuff. By the late 90s they'd become much more of a serious thing to me, and now they're pretty much all that I collect.

Glad you enjoy.
Cheers
Joe

Joe Iv said it before, that UZAY run is just insane! Kudos. I generally have zero love for bootlegs but those carded UZAYS are my exception to the rule. Merry Christmas.

Grant.
