I think it's because Edd's collection has been stolen once and he thinks these limelights should be a bit more private. But I could be wrong.

I believe that is correct Emiel. It is a little bit safer that way. Not much, but a bit.

TIG have just done the same to their forums that have reference threads in them. Used to be able to read without logging in. Can't do that as of yesterday.

Personally I always felt a members only forum was the way to go considering lurkers add nothing to the site, besides it stops banned people continually reading without logging in or creating a new account.

The limelight section is probably a good idea to be off limits as for the reasons above, you just never know.

Yes exactly, from memory I think the sales sections are hidden unless you're registered too.

Nope. Just the Other Forums area isn't visible without logging in. + the showcase section as previously mentioned.
