Do you think that there is a chance that we don't give people enough credit?

There is a female ambulance worker opposite where i live who is a total enthusiast.
I do think that sometimes we should give some of these "girls" a bit of time before we all jump on the "Oh thats a wac job or a bloke just dicking with us". I don't suffer fools gladly, but i do feel that it must be difficult for girls who are into the hobby to join us...
