Sealed or Re-sealed....that is the question

Hey fellas,

This is my first foreign carded figure (besides a couple Tri-Logos), but I'm concerned it may be a re-seal. Normally I feel pretty confident in being able to determine if something is authentic or not, but this one has me scratching my head a bit. The seller claims it hasn't been re-sealed, but he also decided to ship the acrylic case simply wrapped in paper and cracked it on both sides, so his integrity is in doubt.

To me, the cardback and bubble appear to be authentic, but the seal on top and down the right side is all blotchy (especially on top). It does have the waffle pattern present all around the bubble. It doesn't appear the cardback is torn around the bubble seal from being removed at any point.

Hoping to get some opinions on this. Here are several photos I took to try to show it the best I can. Sorry if I went overboard, but trying to make sure everything shows up in the pics. Thanks guys!

Am assuming u paid a pretty penny if the seller deemed it as sealed :?: :!: Therefore he is having a laugh sending the way he did :!:

Not liking top top horizontal part of the seal mate :!: Just looks too patchy and complicated to be an original in tampered with factory seal :?

Obviously for ur sake I hope I am wrong.

Always difficult with pics, but looks off to me, the top section of the bubble is patchy as said, maybe reaction over time to adhesive used, also looks like a hair or something top right hand has been trapped under the seal ( granted this could have been done in factory) bottom right of stem looks like feint tearing.

see what the expert guys on here have to say though, as this is just my opinion ( I have a number of reseals, but I'm no expert).

From the photos I'd say reseal too, the top is really messy and the black line down the left of the bubble looks all over the place.

It looks like a reseal to me mate.
What acrylic case is it in? It looks like an afa or ukg one.

I'm wondering if it's a partial lifting at the top that's been stuck back down with some nasty super glue looks like some print has come away on the top seal and been stuck back down with the glue reacting with the print , I'm no authority on this but looks resealed at the top, think the hair is a crack in the bubble, nice card though.

Appreciate the input so far guys.

I'm not overly familiar with AFA or UKG cases, but this acrylic case does appear to be sealed with no way to open it. Do these services offer sealed cases with no ID tag inside? As bosk70 mentions, I also wonder if it's a partial re-seal.

Is it possible moisture could be the culprit for the seal being the way it is? Would that cause the adhesive under the bubble to become blotchy?

I agree with Bossk 70, my first thought was it's lifted and been stuck back down (perhaps original intentions were innocent). I don't think it's a full on reseal. But it doesn't look like a solid orignal seal to me, it's all the signs of being tampered with. Blotchy seal, glue showing on outer edge if seal as if it's squeezed out, you can even see in the areas where its not resealed (towards top left corner of bubble) it's got a very weak and lifting original seal.

If it's sealed in the case it could have been refused grading and just cased instead. No other reason shy it would be sealed in acrylic.

Id be sending that back.

In fact zooming right in on the 9th photo down you can actually see glue residue on the card about 5mm from the bubble edge.

I also think, that this might be a lifted blister, glued back to the card ... but also think that the figure has never been removed.
Like all genuine items one would have done better to let the lifted blister untouched.
Don't know what you paid for it, but it's a real nice card anyway.
