Sorry to hear the sad news. It's amazing how close you can be to a dog/cat, losing one of them really is like losing a member of the family. I know what you're going through. Thoughts are with you.

I know how it feels,I cried like a baby when I had to put my Doberman down back in 2000.I had mine for 12 years & it's like losing a brother or sister when you've had them that long,never had a pet since!

Cheers Mark...we are The same..we have vowed no more dogs, or pets now, cant go through it again, it's too sad. It's is just like you say...like losing a member of the family

Some say the best way to get over it is too get another. It gives you something else to concentrate on. Think of all the love you get for ten years compared to the pain in the end. Again my condolences go out to you in your family.

Sorry bout george big dog lover me self.specialy spaniels, got two cockers.if you decide to get another think about a rescue as way to many dogs stuck in kennels

Yes mate, rescue dogs are super pets and really great, they know that there in safe secure family environment I'm sure of it.
Over the last 30 years we have rescued two Golden Retrievers, and George's pal Angel who passed last November was a rescue as well, they were all great friends and pals.
But George was a six week old bundle when we got him, and pedigree, was a special little fella, a sad loss, but we have some great memories, and loads of funny stories, he was a real character,
But I agree mate....rescue dogs...make great pals.
We just don't want to go through the heartache anymore though, too sad.
