Mine and my lads b days come up 2 days between each other end of Aug , he has a big one ...30 .......and I have the one I don't want   50

My advice to all you youngsters out there is live your life, go for it, and encourage your kids to do so, as all too soon your staring at 50 :?

Anyways...to the point, he is going to get me SW for my bday, I will be pointing him on here to make some purchases , he collects SW but only the stuff he had as a kid

Basically he is collecting the toys he played with, has some nice ROTJ, MOTU, TUrtles stuff

I was thinking, to surprise him with GHSTBUSTERS

So original MOCS...what will I be looking at cost

Ecto one boxed ....what will I be looking at cost

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers...yep it's when you look in the mirror and your minds eye bears no resemblance to the F**** r that's looking back at you

Any way I'm going to grow old gracefully and continue to relive my youth through SW collecting

Good advice. Star Wars birthday presents is a great idea in theory but i don't want to point the Mrs in that direction as it would mean she had an idea what sort of money i spend on the hobby

Nice one...I never see any bargains, but have some really good deals with the guys on here....free bumps

Chaz B :D top man...great bloke..super deals

Darth Stanley :D top man super deals

eBay, car boots bollocks :x

If you want the original ghostbusters on the first card release (the original ones) expect to pay a nice amount for them (equal to a nice SW MOC from the SW20 Backs), the ghostbusters are out there on the Bay but still not to be found everyday, i would try some GB forums if i where you or like others said, contact Joe.

Funny, your son is almost my age, i just got 31 this year and weird enough i collect the same stuff as you. (for me the toys i just didn't had as a child), my point is, maybe one day, your son will shift his focus and appreciate these old figures aswell.

Cheers Stargeezer

Your right, he is collecting as youth does, and getting the gear he had as a boy, but I must admit he has more ROTJ vintage than anything else, so the seeds are sown :!: plus he will get my gear when I shuffle off this mortal coil, so I would say to him

"I am your father"

"Vintage......it is your destiny".

The original series of RGB figures are a little pricey carded as Dennis said, they are by far the most popular with collectors but that doesn't always mean it's what your son would remember from his childhood. I am 29 this year and although I had some originals I was more attracted to the Fright Features line as a collector (it was kind of the first series of whacky figuers before they got totally silly)as I remembered them more and those are actually a lot cheaper to buy.

You can get nice Ecto-1's boxed or loose for less than £50 :)

The RGB line is actually really, really cool and it's Kenner so you aren't far off from Star Wars in a roundabout way :)

I'm 28 and I was the same. Had all the Fright Features figures! Also very vivid memories of getting a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man for my 6th birthday and taking him in to my infants school to show all my friends!! Great times!! My best mate down the road had the firestation playset which I was eternally jealous of!

Grr now I want to start buying Ghostbusters figures!!!

thanks Joe great idea, boxed ecto 1, loose original main figs

Then a couple of Fright series Mocs...will look great on display as a group 8)

Escapist......know what you mean, makes you want to have them 8)

X PAC .....wife price   get it now :!:

Cheers guys as always :D :D
