I was never really a huge bond fan but he was a great bad guy and I am sorry to hear of his death. Definitely always been a hollywood legend for his Bond roles.

Been a shitter of a year for celebrity deaths hasn't it?

Very sad news, I remember meeting him at a convention in the late nineties, the nicest and most gentle man you could ever meet. Still think it was a mistake turning him into a good guy in Moonraker though.

I agree I was disappointed he turned good guy.

Moonraker is one of the weaker outings but there is a very creepy scene in which Jaws approaches the girl in the alley way. It's in the carnival scene and is very Dracula esque - very nice

Totally agree with you there, that Carnival scene is very effective but out of place with his potrayal in the rest of Moonraker, where he is played almost exclusively for laughs (so, his genitals are made of metal also?)
But, the kids loved him so they had to make him less frightening I guess.

And I have to admit I love it when he pulls the steering wheel off the speedboat, his expression is priceless as he is about to plunge over the waterfall. :D

 that's right metal balls!

Bond was like a carry on film at times in that era - I loved moonraker as a kid, totally agree mate out of place with the rest of his portrayal.

Good to chat about Bond - don't get the chance often :)

Sad news that Kiel, is dead. I think he was awesome in the 2 bond movies :D

But I also loved him in Pale Ride when clint eastwood kicked him in the balls with a hammer

He was also great in Cannonball Run II, Force 10 from Navarone and Silver Streak :D

RIP

Yes Gene Wilder is fantastic

Kiel also starred in 'The Humanoid', one of my favourite Italian Star Wars rip offs, also featuring Barbara Bach who also acted with him in Force 10 from Naverone and the Spy who loved me. Check it out if you've not seen it, the robot dog is pretty cheesy but it's good fun with a great score by Ennio Morricone.

Thanks, I don't think I have seen that one before. I will try to find it and watch it :D

Didn't know about that one either  cheers buddy

Lars - I've got loads of Gene Wilder movies :D
