Another name from my childhood sadly died today.

Loved Battlestar Galactica when it first came to TV in the UK in 1982. I remember it used to be on HTV (Welsh ITV) before it came to ITV, which somehow I could tune into on my Black & White portable from where I lived in Lancashire. It certainly satisfied my Star Wars addiction at the time. Some really good episodes in that original series.

Bloody gutted about this, he was a top guy and very friendly to meet, always had time for fans and he was a great actor.

Met him several times - all the BSG crew I've met were great.

Sad day.

This is very sad news, he was great in the old battle star galactica movies and series, RIP richard hatch.

I hope Dirk Benedict will be here on earth for many years.

Yes, very sad to hear about Richard Hatch's passing. I've always enjoy getting Battlestar Galactica episodes out to watch.

I have to pick you up on one point Andy. I definitely remember watching Battlestar Galactica in 1981, possibly even earlier. We watched Thames/LWT. It used to be on a Thursday evening and immediately afterwards I'd have to go shopping with my parents. I remember that I used to freewheel the shopping trolley pretending to be a Colonial Warrior in a Viper!
