Resealed figure discovery debate - G.Kurtz Palitoy VC Jawa.

Don't know where it came from? It came from toytoni, that's why I'm here on this thread. I've had it for two years.

Okay, I didn't catch that. It still doesn't prove anything though. Your piece could be legit. We don't know. All we know so far is that every black-smudged 65-back palitoy hoth trooper we have found so far cannot be traced back to a store shelf in the 80s. They are all either confirmed to have passed through the hands of AB, JJ or TT, or have iron marks on them, or we just don't know their history.

If we could find that black smudge on ANY palitoy figure that is confirmed to be legit (it wouldn't have to be a hoth trooper), that would put an end to this theory.

But is it just the single stem without numbers on them?

As yet there is no definitive rule, but from observations so far an 03 bubble is more likey to be legit, although there's been at least one photo of an ironed on 03

Unstamped single stems and double stems are both suspect and at the moment a few of us feel that those with dimples are either repro or sealed in a way that leaves a tell.

From Lee Grays Boba photos it seems that once the single and double stems ran out then the no stem larger bubbles were used on the ROTJ cards, as yet there's been little comment over how to tell a genuine one.

Has anyone got a GM card with these larger bubbles? If not does that mean there is a degree of thought from Toni over matching cardbacks to bubbles?

Cheers for that spoons, it will be interesting to see if anyone has a slick seal single stem without a number that was store bought……so it continues.

Christmas is a time of goodwill to all men - maybe Mikey will re-instate us

If this was on RS...some of us would have already been banned for off topic comments    ......Quite a shame on us Americans as the only forum with freedom of speech is a UK forum

It's funny that as soon as that thread went up, the "reinstate Joe" posts started. It's nice being missed. I think you've got a better chance of getting reinstated than I do Todd.

Cheers
Joe

I see, worrying thoughts, thanks for your help, can't see an end to this soon, if at all

Chaps, perhaps we should re-enlist the expertise of one Mr Auggie Ben Doggie?

I have an amateur archaeological background, and I would be more than happy to assist aforementioned fellow; scouring the original Coalville site in order to assist in the authentication of original, factory sourced Palitoy remnants.

'Tis the season of goodwill, so maybe (just maybe) the olive branch could be extended towards this noted explorer of our coveted, vintage heritage.

Just a thought.

has nobody felt the urge to visit the twat yet?
i dodged a big bullett about 5-6 weeks ago by trading my carded 'pony tony' fakes against a lot of loose figures, they owed me about 1000 quid..if i'd ended up with a load of **** for my money, i'd have been down there like a shot..makes you feel sick that someone could get away with this for so long.

Im sure there's a few folk who would quite like to have a word or two, but until there is 100% cold hard cast iron proof, nobody is in a position to do that.

Just asked this one RS (cos I can now!) - what is the score with regards to selling these on - I have seen a couple up on the RS sales pages and there are quite a few on eBay right now - should forum member be actively selling these on without declaring that they are 'suspect' ?

Rocking the boat already   and remember we can cuss on here...so that means we are all morons
Ok...back on topic........these should be advertised as suspect when selling these.......Let me add the word ****...as this makes my post less important.

Nobody should be selling suspect pieces on without full disclosure. I have banned their sale on my star wars facebook group for now.

cheers Jason

I just had a closer look at my German (with english text on its back) Luke Farmboy Cardback, which I bought last year in the UK.
Seems to be there are also iron marks on the card.

are you sure theyre iron marks? if so some look to follow through under where the bubble wouldve been.

now i dont know if it has anything to do with how a bubble is put on but i remember many years ago and even recently when i opened a beater card that when i pulled the bubble off the backing card came off too so the figure was still entombed inside, yet i seen many photos where the backer is still in tacked.

I guess i must have been heavy handed.

I recently saw another one with PBP Luke on it! So I would guess this one was opened for the valubale figure inside?!??! I wouldnt conclude now originals can have the "iron seals". And the tough to find figure would explain it it maybe why this one was opened?

Wolff, why should someone destroy a card which is worth 2000€ to get a figure which is worth less than half, except the opener knew the card is/was fake.
