EV9D9 is one of the last few figures that I need to complete my loose collection but i've noticed they've started making repro parts for the figure, see links, is there any way of telling these apart from the real thing as I don't want to end up with a figure with repro stuff on it.

Imperial Gunnery doesn't have a section on this yet, there are a few threads on people discussing it but no real guide as to what to look out for.

There's also a Youtube video where a guy is modifying parts from a POTF2 figure and fitting them to the vintage one, see link.

These should be easy to spot: **** finish and painted.

I see the price of a good EV-9D9 is going the way of the pop up sabre R2, though. Need to track one of these down before they go stupid. Oops. Too late.

Total agreement. When I looked at the eBay listing that finish could be quickly spotted. I'd say just be cautious when the time comes for you to purchase as we do when buying weapons and everything else.

* Always good to see when someone actually list what they're selling as repro but of course these are more customs (with an attempt to match vintage color) than repro. When the mold itself is used to create repros with a plastic color to match the vintage figure, TIG may then put up a watch out. Then again maybe they are working it now :?:
