I know theres negative waves on the forum just now so perhaps the wrong time to ask inane questions - but I will anyway! :D

I'm cleaning up an old x-wing and bringing her back from the swamps of Dagobah. The decals are shot so need replaced. I'm having no luck finding a vintage set of x-wing decals so I'm thinking about a repro set.
Obviously I'd love to keep the ship 100% vintage but at the moment this doesn't seem to be possible. She's going to be for display and probably play purposes anyway. Means I can let my son play with it, especially when EP7 fever grips next year!

Anyway, can anyone recommend any repro decals? Theres a guy in Australia selling them on Ebay (zacparis), anybody used them?
Also, has anyone tried out the whitening process to get rid of the yellowing? Whats your thoughts on it?

I know some people are against repros etc but for a loose ship thats not going to be sold on just for use, I don't see anything wrong.

:)

I'm sure Todd could send you over something to print off for your personal use, try sending him a PM: http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=358

Get where your coming from, Todd is a good shout!

As for cleaning, soapy water, and bicarbonate of soda with a soft toothbrush is about all I would do.

If you go down a chemical route, run the risk of damage.

Clean as best you can, then decals, will give a great result for display

Good luck mate, post up some before and after pics

OR look for a wrecked one with decals still in place.. my charity shop one still has everything there.. and was a couple of squids.
