From FFURG: " I bought a vac forming machine & I'm now very close to completing all the molds for the Kenner factory bubbles" Meccano, Palitoy & POTF also done
Molds002.jpg

  I'm speechless, I think a few of you may have a comment

FFURG - ugh

Judging from the pictures and posts over there they may have created more fake/custom recards than there are real ones..

I don't want to get into a big discussion on this because most of us have been there and done that all before, so I will just say : "SAY NO TO RECARDS!"

(seriously if someone has enough money to buy a ****ing vac forming machine then he has money to buy the real thing - and he obviously has intentions to make more than just the odd recard..)

Great news

Why dont they try and recard Kenner ROTJ General Madines NO they have to recard the rare items like Meccano etc

My opinions about that site are well known (see the replica cards thread on RS).

They really dont give a **** about protecting our hobby.

All they care about is creating the perfect fakes, be it fake waffle patterns or perfect size matched bubbles and the information is plastered all over their website for any scammer to browse.

Its like looking at the blank canvasses before they are used for forgeries.

Im a purist collector thats not into repros.

I couldn't have said it better myself Joe. That picture makes me sick to my stomach.

The time and money this guy put in to replicating the original bubbles is ridiculous. He could have spent that same time and money and by now could have a decent actual vintage collection of figures.

James, if I were you, I would also post this in the watch out or even the main vintage thread on RS as well. I think all vintage collectors should know the storm that is coming. Where this guy has gone to these extremes, you know he is going to start selling these bubbles as a business.

Yet another reason to only deal with well known dealers and members on the boards. Their next step will be to try and replicate yellow bubbles, so they look more legit.

I dont mind so much if they are marked as repro or if they are customs of items that were never invented. You can appreciate the fact that they have a skill but I dont like it when they end up on Ebay where poor newbies end up buying then finding out they are repos and thats the hobby over for them just as they take there first steps which happens all the time im afraid...

Exactly Grant, its the fact that as Jay said those recard enthusiasts make their techniques and tricks known to not only people recarding for their own enjoyment, its there for ALL to see. We all know how many dodgy characters there are that love these "how to scam guides"

The one thing that always makes me chuckle is the state of the figures they some actually recard, R2's with yellow stickers and Luke Farmboys with yellow limbs!

Correct Joe,

If there going to try and rip me off with a recard at least use a Fu*king convincing figure that dosent look like it was produced in 1877 far less 1977

LOL at the yellow bubble replicators :)

The bubbles they are making now are 100% accurate...Hell hey are even making blisters for the three-pack. The yellow blister thing has been done as well. I am a customizer and I love to see great customs, but I do agree that there is a difference between a custom(Never produced) and A Repro (A copy of an existing item). I have made replicas and customs for years and was once on the FFURG boards (Left because they were to anal). I made mine for my own gratification and pleasure...never to dupe anyone...but I can see all your points.

If you replace the C in RECARDS with a T then that sums up my feelings on the matter quite nicely...............

Time to (try and) educate the idiot (AGAIN).......................what does FFURG stand for?

Think I prefer Joe's explanation!

Ehhh varaints..................................... :?
